Telford Whitehouse Hotel

My husband & I stayed here with our 14 month old daughter. It was a midweek stay and it was planned as my husband was working locally to the hotel and we thought it would allow him less travelling time. Our 1st impressions of the hotel were quite good, the room looked modern and tidy. It wasn't until our daughter started to roam around the room that I noticed very dirty areas. 4 stars. the place is attached to telford utd football club. everything seemed new and we had nothing to complain about in our 3 night stay. good pool facilities, dining, and helpful staff. well done

The hotel is fairly new and right next door to Telford United Football Ground-in fact the dining room looks out over the pitch.We were concerned on arrival as to whether there would be room to park in the evening as it is also next to a health Club but we did not have a problem.I asked about the parking and apparently there is a dedicated parking area for the football club and when they have conferences.I was a bit taken aback by the sparse reception area expecting more for a 4* hotel.I had read previous reviews and requested a room NOT... more

I was a bit concerned about staying here as a lot of 2005 reviews were not so good. I won't accept shoddy service and have to say I have no complaints about this hotel at all. I stayed with my husband and two teenage sons for a long weekend as it is close to the museums and also only 30 mins away from the Snowdome in Tamworth. Well, i read the previous review and was very worried about staying here. We got a fantastic deal on the room rate including breakfast. We stayed 2 nights and had a superb time, dinner on both nights was very good, service was fair too good as we had to wait for our table on the first night becasue the restaurant was very busy at 8pm. The hotel is very modern and has been built around the Telford united football ground, it has a gym and swimming pool that you could use free of charge that looked very nice although i did not use. The rooms are excellent if you like the modern contemporary look, which i do. They are a very good size, my room had a very large double bed, modern sofa, coffee table, large tv, desk and wireless internet (extra charge). my boyfriend and I stayed at the Telford Whitehouse for a weekned away to visit Ironbridge. We got a good deal at this hotel and we thought it would be very nice as it had just recently opened with a brand new leisure centre and new rooms. OK where do I start .... 1. Room was freezing cold, and when went to have a shower the water was stone cold. Ordered wine glasses to the room, took about 15 minutes for them to be delivered 2. Dinner - very inexperienced staff, this was meant to be a 4* hotel so was expecting things to be good. Wine was plonked on table with a "there you go" - no pouring, tasting nothing. This is a lovely modern hotel , great facilities but very poorly run . no Ironbridge passes on arrival , staff couldnt care less , had to queue for breakfast every day, Had dinner in restaurant saturday evening , childrens food stone cold , table next to us had the same problems , The hotel itself is lovely , great pool , excellent value for money if you shop around , lovely room , very clean .
