The best aspect of this hotel was the staff. Everyone I came into contact with was extremely helpful and friendly.
It was easy to reach from the train station - about 5 minutes walk along dedicated cycleway/walkways, and simple to find with the receptionist's directions.
The room was large, with a good shower and a comfy bed, with all the necessaries. It looked out onto a roof but I was staying in the hotel for business, so that wasn't a problem.
The bar had plenty of seating room and was satisfactory.
I didn't try out the leisure facilities.
My evening meal let the hotel down however - I had an undercooked duck with frazzled vegetables followed by a dessert that was supposed to fruit and meringues but was actually a mushy mixture without much taste.
Perhaps they were just having a bad night.
Breakfast was reasonable - again, with good, prompt service.
Overall, I would stay there again but I would dine elsewhere.

I can honestly say that the overall cleanliness was of a good standard. Room basic of travel lodge standard but very clean & comfortable nevertheless..The food however..mmmmm, well that was another matter! New potatoes were served obviously not been prepared as they were grey in colour, the veg was raw & we found ourselves crunching the carrots, chicken was so overcooked was like eating rubber!! The amount of food waste going back into the kitchen was unbelievable so it was no surprise when on the breakfast buffet the next morning was all the left over new potatoes fried up...no thanks! On complaining to management I found them very rude & the duty manager in question was having a three way conversation with the receptionist whist I was trying to air my grievance..so I asked to speak to somebody higher he was not much better as seemed to be in a rush to get somewhere..however our complaint did get resolved by offering us free wine, still hungry nevertheless!! I would stay again just would'nt dine here..hotel really needs to consider getting a new chef!! And management desperately need to attend a customer service course!!
