Do Not Go To This Hotel
I have stayed in a fair few budget hotels in my time but this one was the worst ever. My partners car got broken into directly outside the main entrance of the hotel (expensive items were stolen). The staff did not feel fit to ring us in our room to inform us of what happened. We found out about the car, as we approached our car and saw the broken window. When speaking to the reception staff informed us they heard the car alarm going off but were not allowed to leave their desk eventhough they had a direct view of the car. They... more
Will not stay here again for sure!
We booked the rooms before reading all these reviews, so were prepared for the worst. The room was small, which wasn't a problem. The bathroom was very dirty in the way that the ceiling and around the window was full of moulds. The shower cubicle wasn't clean either. After taking a shower, the steam made the mould smell even worse. Not sure whether it has been improved since Sep. 2005. The breakfast was very nice though! Full English-breakfast buffet. The location is quite far away from the centre, but with the... more
ok
My review pretty much reflects what everyone else has said. The general decor was shabby and in much need up updating. We were given a room with a double bed and a single bed in for two people, it was ok, but fairly old furniture, there were cobwebs on the ceiling and the curtains were old and the curtain track and pelmet had seen better days. The En-suite bathroom was very small, and mouldy in places, not the cleanest bathroom I have seen in a hotel! We were with other couples and I did check their bedrooms to get an overal view and... more
value for money
i booked on line and got a good deal hotel met my needs, staff were very friendly the hotel is idealy situited for a night
awful hell hole
if i was to say a hell hole of a hotel i would be paying to much of a compliment, from the rude arrogant reception staff to the over enthusiastic prostitute in the communal bathroom next to my room, belive me my partner was less than impressed. it is a seedy hotel with a cold breakfast to boot. i would expect this kind of hotel in a lawless, prehistoric age...........its not worth it......
Very basic budget hotel that has seen better days long ago
This was our first time in Birmingham to visit a show. Unfortunately we were unable to book earlier so felt happy to have found accommodation. To say the hotel is a very basic budget hotel is being rather kind. Staff were helpful enough but the decor and standard of fittings left a lot to be desired. The corridors were dingy and smelt whilst the rooms were very small and dark (we had a double ensuite and are not big people). There was a TV which hung off the wall and had to be circumvented carefully in the middle of the night... more
Avoid this hotel at all costs!
I stayed here with my partner and his family to celebrate a special occasion. We had awful meals, which were cold, and in some cases did not arrive at all! The rooms were dingy, smelt musty, and the facilities were not impressive. The staff were also very unfriendly and unhelpful. It was upsetting for all concerned and we would not recommend staying here to anyone.
Enjoyed our stay
Having already booked and paid for our room, we read the comments that were made on Trip Advisor and we were quite suprised. We overlooked these comments and stayed at the Norfolk Hotel and had an enjoyable time, the food was great and the staff were really helpful.
a very satisfied family
My family and I have been having our sunday lunch here regularly for the past year. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I am disappointed that past guests comments have down graded such a friendly hotel. My husband and I have stayed here a few times and even booked the bridal suite on our wedding anniversary. The bedrooms are comfortable and adequete for our short stay. I speak for all my family when I say we will continue to enjoy your Sunday Carvery.
