Very Good Hotel :)
9 / 10
Aug 2011, Jeeeesss.R

I have now stayed in golmar beach 2 times after just getting back on the 13th august. Golmar beach is a recommended hotel of mine. It is situated right on the beach meaning no huge walks down to the beach in the morning. You can always get a sunbed, whether it be around the pool or on the beach. It has two slides around the pool which entertain both adult and children. Food (breakfast and dinner) is basic but loverly! Rooms are cleaned everyday by the maids. Hotel staff are very welcoming upon arrival. The only thing is the waitors dont socilize much. All in all i enjoyed my stay at the hotel :)

  • Advice: Many day trips such as boat trips, jeep safaris etc available for low prices

We went as a family of three, very few of them have a sea veiw but it was very clean and on the beach, food is more expensive there and soft drinks are very small glasses so we did not eat or drink here much, room had a hair dryer, tv only saw one large cockroach the whole week we stayed that was in the restaurant,,
a lovely resort best places to eat are the Mandarin and friends which are close to each other, you can eat a three course meal in mandarin for 17 lira which is only about
£6-£7 bargain, lovely people,if you want to buy dvd,s all latest and full versions, the best place is in the sqaure near friends beside the jewellers,he used to have a shop on the prominard, but these all got closed down, they are 10 for £10 he has a great reputation to keep so buy with confidence.
we went on the rafting with through the rep with a so called free boat trip thrown in only to find everyone on the trip paid a lot less via street sellers which are everywhere and there is no difference, all had the same experiance.
it was to far the rep said 1 hour drive it was over 4 and the buses were racing each other along the cliff tops with all the passengers holding on and praying,
my advice is it is not worth the long thirsty dusty hot journey for how long you get on the water, but it was lovely to have done it and the scenery was lovely.
we took only English money and easy to change anywhere pay for any item in cash and get liars change,
jet ski was great £20 for 20 mins plenty long enough and that is for two people bargain.at the end he will try to sell you all the photos for £15 on a disc we knocked him down to £10 for 67 photos,

Great holiday
8 / 10
Aug 2011, Merrimonster.

After reading several of these reviews we were a little reserved about the Golmar Hotel and wondered whether we'd made the right decision. However, we were pleasantly suprised. The hotel is clean, the rooms are of a good size, the pool and slides are fab, we couldn't get our two sons aged 6 and 8 out of the pool! and the access to the beach and to the resort is ideal. The buffet meal each night was lovely, offering a range of english and turkish food with the maincourses different each night of the ten nights we were there.
The only downside of this hotel is the staff - they do nothing to help the atmosphere, you go elsewhere and the TUrks are so lovely, funny and friendly in every restaurant but my god in the Golmar it really is like someone has died!!! Didn't affect our great holiday though.

I just returned from Turkey on the 5/6/2011. The hotel was ok to stay in but the Breakfast and dinner was horribe, no choice of food same day after day. The dinner was a mixture it didn't make any sence, we had to dine out to get a good meal. I wish i went all inclusive where the menu was a lot better. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone as they would be dissapointed.

this was a last miniute holiday, we booked this holiday through thomas cook. im 13 and i went with my mum and dad, i think the rooms were very baisic but really big. We were obviously lucky and got a big family room with two single beds and one doubble and a huge doubble balkony, also with my dad having a bit of a limp due to an accident we requested a 1st floor room and we got one we also got brilliant veiws (of the bay and the pool), i wouldnt trust the lift!! the pool area is quite big with two decent slides for the children, there are only a few sunbeds that get sun though because most end up in the shade. we went to gomlars own private beach every day, that was much better there because all the sunbeds were in the sun and it was alot more peaceful for sunbathing, i must warn you there are alot of little fish in the sea and do nibble at your legs and also on the sore there are long brown jelly things with lots of spikes on them and the turkish men said they can be nasty if you stand on one, the workers are abit sly and tend to stare and talk about the younger girls. sometimes they could get abit uncomfortable and abit annoying, thers one young lad who is about 15 and my dad really got along with him and he worked really hard, the food on a morning was just boring, turkish breakfast. so we went out on a morning for our breakfast most times, also the air con in the room wasnt up to much, but still i would recommend it. some workers are abit ignorent, wich you wouldnt want on your holiday. in the hotel resturant they ripped my dad off few times so we dint get along with them that well but still always tried to me nice (some of them).. i recommend the hotel boat trip! that was fantastic, its £15 each or 15TL each (i cant remember) the food on the trip was brillant all homemade there and then, they stopped off alot and you could go into the ocean and jump off the top of the boat (if you do book this get there earlie because then you will be able to get the top of the boat there all the huge cusions are where you can sunbathe on)there are alot of pubs and it can get quite livley bit nothing like actuall marmaris! ive only been home for about 2 weeks now it was a good holiday overall, and would maybe recomend this hotel to travellers.

Just got back from Golmer Beach Icmeler yesturday 29/6/2010 wonderfull hotel, breakfast is your traditional turkish breakfast,we usualy ate r breakfast and dinner out as food much nicer in the resturants around icmeler and so much choice from chinese and indian, english food to tradional turkish menu's.
Had a great view from are room all rooms with a sea view.
Great pool area with sea salted water and 2 slides gr8 for children.
People in the hotel were pleasant but not over friendly.
1 thing i would say air-conditioning,fridge and safe are very expensive to rent...we payed £40 for 10days of are conditioning when usualy in most hotels air-conditioning is free.
When we arrived there was a farm smell but its not a smell that is around all day just now n then you can smell it in the evening if there was a breeze and that was only in passing the front of the hotel you could not smell it from anywhere inside the hotel.
I would recommend also to change your currancy in turkey as you get a much better rate than here in the uk.
Horse safari, lazy day boat trip and jeep safari are trips you have to try there we all fantastic.
gym in hotel was not in working order also table tennis table was just a nomral table painted green!but apart from that other amenities were gr8.
Would recommend Golmer beach defenetly gr8 location close to everything but also relaxing.

Booked as a very last minute holiday, am a travel agent myself so hope this will be a useful review. When we arrived at the hotel I must admit my heart sank - we arrived late at night round the back of the hotel which looked very rundown, i really thought i had made a big mistake, the guys on reception were a little "sleepy" not exactly on the ball or very welcoming. Got taken to the room and was relieved to find it was clean, spacious and comfortable, bathroom was a good size too.
Woke in the morning and felt a lot better about the place when i saw the view - beautiful sea view surrounded by green hills.
Hotel is actually fine, got everything you need, nice bar and dinnig area. Liked the food a lot - as long as you are up for trying new and traditional Turkish foods you should enjoy, the food was delicious and cooked very well. You can tell they take great pride in it. Dont expect much for breakfast though - eggs, hams, cheese, a little fruit and toast or cereal, so i suppose enough to keep most happy, i found it a bit limited myself.
Staff are fantastic! so polite and friendly at this hotel, they really made the difference to the holiday and making it a good experience.
The beach was OK, it was pretty small, i cant imagine how packed it will be in peak time. each small beach section seems to be owned by the different hotels along the beach front which is a little confusing at first as these are not marked. The beach is fine for sunbathing, not really a kids play beach for sandcastle making, the sea is more of a lake, very clear but stony so not ideal for paddling either.
The downside for me was the local area, when i go on holiday it is to get away from the UK, i like finding out about other cultures, trying local foods and taking advantage of lower prices - no such luck in Icmeler! You only have to step a few metres out of the hotel to find locals harassing you - whether its to eat in their restaurants, but ice creams, come into their shops or buy their tours. You cannot walk anywhere without this hassle. We went to a market one day and all you get is cheap fakes, and shouts of "primark prices" Asda prices" "Lovely Jubbly!" its pretty annoying. they try to rip you off anyway, silver jewelry for example, meant to be a good buy in Turkey, they tried to charge me around £20 for a tiny pendant on a this silver chain, i knew this would be cheaper in Uk, well it soon came down to half this price. i know its all haggling and part of being here, but they take the mickey! at the airport a Mcdonalds was £30 for a meal - yes thats not a typo and a coke around £3.50 for a can! its a joke! Dont go near the perfume - they say it is real - but trust me its still fake! got caught out on that one!
Overall - i wouldn't go back, but thats just because its not my type of holiday, not because there was anything wrong with the place.

Just arived back from 2 weeks at this hotel, the hotel is basic but very clean and friendly, breakfast was enough to choose from. The beach was clean and the sunbeds are free, no body to hastle you on the beach also which is good. I was dubious about travelling to Turkey after i had heard reports from various people but i can honestly say i would definately return, the food in the restaurants were of an excellent standard. The restaurants are right on the door step also, lots of bars, shops and things to amuse you and look at.

We thoroughly researched this hotel before we booked it so we were appalled at what we found when we got there. The room was disgusting, massive stains on the carpet and curtains, old shabby furniture. No proper bed linen; appliances with paper shoved in them and wires showing. Inside and outside the hotel is in desperate need of major refurbishment. No way can it be described as a 3 star; even by Turkish standards. Without a doubt, one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in.
Hotel smelt of animals - due to the farm across the road. There were 2 fights and another commotion which woke us up at 4am twice during the week we were there!
Terrible!

Just spent 10 days at Golmar Beach, would go back again without question, hotel clean, breakfast not up to much (not English), afternoon meals at £5 per head are excellent with a wide variety of food. Air con. at £4 per day not too bad, didn't like having to pay £1 a day for fridge in room, kettle and a couple of cups in each room wouldn't go amiss. Staff pleasant, even though some couldn't understand or speak any English but what do you expect, I couldn't speak any Turkish. beach is shingle as are most,

Brilliant location! Great pool area (still have to get up early to get a bed around the pool and beach but where don't you?) There are plenty of other free beds along the beach as long as you buy your drinks from their bar. Prices are very reasonable everywhere! Rooms cleaned linen and towels changed every day. The pool really clean and excellent slides for the kids and adult kids! Very friendly staff - especially Ali who takes your drink orders around the pool and on the beach. You really don't have to move. Would highly recommend the boat trip from the hotel, definately beats all the other ones. The bbq alone is worth a tenner and the drinks are the same price as the hotel so you don't have a nasty shock at the end. Brilliant bars all with their own entertainment, we've never seen so many Micheal Jackson's! The Stella show is also worth seeing. A fantastic place that we will definately go back to. After 3 weeks we still didn't want to come back!
