Golmar Beach Hotel Reviews
" Shabby "
Submitted By: 49amyHotel smelt of animals - due to the farm across the road. There were 2 fights and another commotion which woke us up at 4am twice during the week we were there!
Terrible!
Advice: Be very careful when shopping; even when you haggle you're unlikely to get a bargain!
Activities: The Stella Show!

Submitted By: Mrs Margaret LiddleAlthough this hotel was a three star adding all the extras it was as expensive as a higher star hotel. On a better note I have to say that the staff from reception to waiters and room maids were very nice and very helpful. Sadly, I will not use this hotel again as it is too far off the beaten track and unfortunately, it is rated too high.
Advice: Yes Icmeler is a beautiful place, I have been there several times, and the Turkish people are second
Activities: Love Boat Restaurant, and Venice Restuarant

Submitted By: JustThatGirl. It was literally the best holiday I have ever had!
I mean, okay, the beds were a bit hard and the shower was very '' Turkish '' shall we say, but how much time do you spend in your room!? You sleep and you get ready.
Just remember that Englands 5 star, 4 star or even 3 star Is sooo much different to a Turkish 3 star.
Meanwhile, the pool was absoloutly excellent!! My husband had the most fun with the slides, more than my daughter! And you cannot fault the Pool people, they get you everything. My daughter and I found one that we quite liked!! :)
But even at night, on a few occasions we saw the boys that worked at the hotel and even then they are as nice as pie. We had a few drinks with them and just chatted until quiet early in the morning!
Yes, I agree that the hotel wasn't fabulous, but you dont go for the hotel, you go for Turkey and the people there, to have a nice time and to sit on the beach. To go and get a tan, and to get all the knock off handbags.
So it was deffinatly the best holiday I've ever had.
PS. If your going to go to any restaraunts go to one called The Love Boat...
The food there is absoloutly GORGEOUS!
Anyway, hope you enjoy yourself if you go and I would recommend the Hotel and Turkey to ANYBODY!

Submitted By: Mr P W BundockThe Golmar is sighted just right,if,like me you are a bit of a Jekell& Hyde,I like it quiet for most of the time, however when I feel like partying I like to let go!and the beauty of the Golmar is each bar brings you closer to home,we always finish off at the DENIZ KAPISI this place used to bang until five in the morning, but it settles a little earlier these day's.All in all the Golmar is a pleasant hotel with very nice staff,Kerim is a jewell to behold and seeing him again on Monday will be so good.
we hav'nt been to the Golmar for two years now,so it will be interesting to see if spraggs view was justified! I will give an up to date view on our return.

Submitted By: Mrs R CholertonThe first problem with this holiday was the transfer. After 15-20 minutes on the road the driver decided to stop at the dirtiest cafe. It was 6 in the morning and even though we didn't want a stop he pulled in and announced a 15 minute toilet stop. Really, it was just so he could have some food with the cafe owners and other drivers. We think that the transfer company was taking the new-comers to the cafe to buy things because it also happened on the way back. Clearly it was pre-arranged because all the same company buses were pulling in and you'll see that there are other opportunities further down the road for a toilet stop. In any event after that you have to be prepared for bad driving and a long trip after this because he doesn't stop again in two hours.
The hotel itself was clearly at one time a top hotel, but now seems to be in need of some renovation. I would say that it's really a two star plus! That said the rooms were spacious, cleaned everyday, and safe. The pool had two slides, but to be honest they looked like they needed replacing, or cleaning and sometimes the bigger one wasn't even working.
The breakfast was really nothing to shout about. You have a choice of spam, dairylea, coco pops with warm milk, Melon with flies or slightly toasted bread. On one occasion I told the waiter who had previously been speaking English, that the milk was warm, but he suddenly lost the ability to speak English and seemed more interested in the young girls behind me. In general then I would say that if you're looking for a hotel to stay at all day, then I think you'll be disappointed, but if like us you like going out and about and just need a base then it's fine. One other thing though, be careful of prices. A bottle of wine was 35 Lira, which was £17!!!
I think it's also worth telling you about the place. First off it's not cheap! Anything between 3 Lira and 6 Lira for a pint and the food, which is generally rubbish, is really over priced in some parts. The waiters are all very friendly, especially to the women and are very good at remembering names so as to get you to go back, but when they talk to you about going back at night for a meal cut them back on prices. That's the same with the water sports. Tell them you want discounts cause some of it is too expensive.
On the way back the transfer bus provided some further bad driving and a pit stop at the cafe which was yet another excuse for people to buy stuff when really we just wanted to get to the airport, which was only another twenty minutes away.
One final point. Be prepared for the most extortionate airport ever. It is £11 for a Macdonalds and £35 for a KFC bargain bucket without drink or dips!!! Who said going abroad was cheap?
In general though, great weather, safe hotel, peaceful beautiful area and a good relaxing time! But I don't think we'd bother with it again.

Submitted By: Mrs A LeeThe hotel was beautiful, rooms spotless and cleaned every day. The staff were wonderful and nothing is too much trouble for them.
Having been to Icmeler before, normally when staying in a hotel and if you are not staying in that hotel for evening meals or drinks, the staff can get quite pushy. But nothing like that here. We sometimes ate in the restaurant here, and the food was excellent and very cheap.
It has all the amenities that you could possibly want, air conditioning, fridge, hairdryer, a fantastic pool with to superb waterslides, a photographer, hairdresser, internet cafe and even a doctor that calls daily should you need it.
Two of our party has disabilities, and the hotel caters very well for this. We even managed to hire a wheel chair through them for one of the guests.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone. 100% first class.
Thanks to Kerim and all the staff who made us so very welcome. See you next year!
