Honeymoon in Paris with an overpriced view of the Eiffel Tower
We spent the first four days of our honeymoon at this hotel just after Bastille Day. It was small but we expected that it would be because after all... it's PARIS! And the buildings weren't built yesterday. Anyway, the room was seriously cute, decorated in traditional Parisian style, heavy drapes, faux canopy over the bed (actually two twins pushed together, a black mark in my opinion considering it was our honeymoon!). They left out a dish of strawberries and a bucket of ice but no bottle of champagne. I was disappointed considering the... more
A small luxurious retreat
We stayed here in July for a couple of nights, having first discovered this hotel via a magazine article. First impressions are of a tired worn look to the lobby area and a refurbishment seems well overdue. The staff however are some of the friendliest we have encountered on our journey's around the world, for nothing seems to be too much trouble, as they endeavour to make your stay in this superb Parisian Boutique establishment that little bit special. Enough has been previously said on the room sizes at this hotel and I can only... more
Worst in Paris
It is the worst 4 star hotel in Paris. I am not sure who gave the hotel a 4 star without any updated ammenities. The rooms was way too small, drapes were dirty, chairs in room overworn and stained, drain at shower clogged, carpet at stairs wornout from time, wallcovering in corridors painted instead of replaced. We travelled all over the World but this is so far the worst 4 star hotel.
lovely stay
we stayed here in feb 2006 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the staff are very friendly and helpful and everyone at the desk spoke very good english. the champagne breakfast was lovely (ours was included in the price of our room but if you pay seperate it would be 27e each) however we werent given a menu to choose what we wanted, we were just asked is.... ok? personally i would have liked a menu to choose from other options. the bedroom was lovely, compact but very nice. the bed was the comfiest bed i've ever slept on so that was... more
Nice hotel for short stay
We stayed here for a short xmas break and overall it was very pleasant. The rooms are a little on the small side considering the price, but it was clean and the staff quiet friendly. The location is great, just a short walk from the metro and between the arc de triomph and the eiffel tower. The Champagne breakfast was good, but I'm glad our deal had breakfast included as €27 each is a little steep! Would stay here again and recommend it for a short sight seeing trip.
Saved my honeymoon
for years while honeymooning in paris, I book a room at the best western trocadero. little that I knew my wife was clostrophobic and the room there was small. in The middle of the night I had to scramble to find a better room. I called American express and explain my predicament. they hooked me up with the dokhan. The lady for amex told me that this hotel should save my honey. Pleasant staff, wonderfull room, nice decor, outstanding wine. I can go on and on with the praise for that chic boutique hotel. I highly recommend it to... more
at last the right hotel for me
I have spent many weeks in many paris hotels, and this is the only one I will be making a return visit. Our reception was fantastic ,the room was just right, the staff that served breakfast so nice. They advertise continental but you get waiter service of all the usual stuff but you can have eggs and bacon cooked to order or eggs cooked any way you like a great way to start the day, great food in a beautifully paneled room.this is also the champaign bar in the evening lit by candels .The lounge area is just as romantic with a flickering fire and... more
Nice enough
I stayed at Trocadero Dokhan with a friend last February, and, whilst it boasts elegant decor and great location - close to the Eiffel Tower on one side of Avenue Kleber and Arc de Triomphe and Champ Elisee on the other, the housekeeping standarts were certainly not 5* as one would expect - there was some dust on the marble floor in the bathroom. Apart from that, the dinig and sitting rooms are very pretty (especially the panelled one) and the general feeling is quite homely. I'd definetely go back, mostly for the location.
A charming boutique hotel
If you like cosy, upholstered, chintzed-out European boutique hotels, this is the place for you. The rooms are small, but beautifully furnished and even the wallpaper is fabric. The accommodations are ideally suited to a business traveller (i.e. solo) because they're small, as is the bathroom. The elevator, elegantly upholstered in Louis Vuitton leather, can fit two people with no luggage. Charming, but a hassle to use. It's near the Champs Elysee (well--about four long blocks), but the immediate area is rather sleepy.
Tres Chic
I had the pleasure of staying at the Dokhans while visiting Paris and can only report that the room was exquisite, the attention to details befitting a fine boutique hotel. The lounge and champagne bar/breakfast room were elegant yet relaxed and charming. Incredible service right down to the Roger & Gallet toiletries and plush bath robes. Staying at the Dokhans Trocadero was a real treat!
