Migny Hotel

This hotel catered perfectly for my family in so far as it was clean, comfortable and convenient in terms of location. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was more than adequate. We had a roomy "Quad Bedroom" which didn't have much of a view but was cleaned daily and provided everything we needed. Admitedly the children nicknamed the Hotel "Mingy" but soon retracted that after a stay in the New Hotel Gard Du Nord which was also a two star but of a CONSIDERABLY lower standard. Shabby little hotel in Pigalle. Ignore any reference to Opera or Monmatre in the name and concentrate on the location. It is in Pigalle which for the unknowing, as we were, is the red light district in Paris. 600metres from the Moulin Rouge sounds attractive until you realise that equals 100mtres from open street prostitution. You can walk from here to both Monmatre or Opera Garnier but they are not what I would consider close enough to merit inclusion in the name of the hotel. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. Unless you want to be ripped off. I know there are some criminals around the Pigalle area but i did not expect our hotel manager to be the biggest one! We got charged for leaving fast food cartons in the room,blocking the toilet and leaving dirty towels in the bathroom and also for the hotel being unable to use the room for one week (even though they charged our card 1 day after we left the hotel). I stayed there with my girlfriend for a week and i have to say it, The hotel personal was perfect and the hotel itself is very nice, the rooms ave very nice and new and the location is perfect we walked everywere, "sacrée coeur", "champs elysée", shops and restaurant in the same street. My parents stayed in a hotel last year in Paris and payed twice the price we payed and their hotel was not as good. So for me it gets a 20/20

I was delighted with the Migny Opera Hotel. I stayed with a family of five (kids 11, 13 and 15) and found it quite adequate and reasonable rates for the location. I was not conerned about the location, as we went for a walk during the evening up to the nearby Moulin Rouge with no concerns at all. The room itself had good bedding for 5, though there was not a lot of space once all the luggage was laid about. I think my review falls somewhere in between all the extremes on this website. The hotel was perfectly adequate but I cannot say it was a 'bargain' as you get what you pay for. It's cheap and it has everything you need, but with no extras. My room was clean and a decent size for one person, the tv worked, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was simple but did the trick, the shower was good and strong and the reception staff were very helpful. Had some reservations due to other reviews by other tourists. Room was spacious and big for the four of us, 2 boys aged 10 and 4. Very, very clean. Staff including cleaner and kitchen staff were friendly and cheerful and wished us a chirpy "bonjour" every day. Yoan, deputy manager was helpful, humourous and put up with my apalling French. The area was fine, maybe a red light district but not "in your face". Well done for a two star hotel you've done very well.

Good points - Breakfast included and edible - Television worked Bad points - Lingering unpleasant smell in room and bathroom - BED BUGS/FLEAS!!! Don't know what they were but I'm covered in bites - Grubby sheets - Cleaning staff kept forgetting things, like the towels which were old and tired anyway and no one to bring them up to room

I do not usually write reviews but they desreve it. Everything was great and exeeded expectations: I got a renovated room, the guys at reception were kind and I got help and great tips for staff to do at Paris although I had my plans done already. Unless you are looking for a 5 star hotel I would strongly recommend Hotel Migny. Jonathan G

I loved Hotel Migny and so did my 4 children. We had a wonderful room with 5 twin beds. This time, we all had our own beds. The hotel is extremely clean and quiet. The bathrooms were very nice and clean. The front desk gentlemen were extremely kind and helpful too. We spent 5 nights.. The hotel was very close to the sacre coeur and many places to eat and see like opera area and a lot of french theatres, I recommand you will never forget.It was very romantic, it was Paris!
