Mercure Tour Eiffel Hotel

The Hotel was nice, not spectacular but NICE! The location is perfect, right across from Dupleix Metro station so you can leave your car in the Hotel garage (eur 18/day). Our room was really good & clean, comfortable beds and nice duvet covers, roomy enough (even for the little doghouse as you can see in the picture!) and quiet .. no noises from neighbouring rooms and since it was on the courtyard side we could leave the window open, the only sound was from the fountain on the patio. I spent a full week here on business. As you might expect with a chain hotel in a very touristy part of Paris, it's very expensive for what you get. I paid €150 a night, €19 a day for breakfast, €12 a day for internet, another €19 a day for parking - wow! Rooms are quite large for central Paris. The bed is comfortable and you have the one English-language channel, CNN. You have cabled internet in the room which you can hook your laptop to for €12 a day. My Mom and I stayed at the hotel for a long weekend in February and couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. The staff was so pleasant, the rooms were simple but very nice, and the location was excellent. There are several small nice places to eat around- but the metro is not even across the street- so you can get anywhere so quickly!!! The breakfast is impressive, and the bar is a nice place to unwind at the end of the day! On Sunday there was even a little market set up outside of our window!!! Just returned from a very hot Paris. The mercure Tour Eiffel (not to be confused with the mercure suffren) was absolutely first class for a 4 star in Paris (where 4 star means little..) The room was large, air conditioned, spotlessly clean with a good bed. It was right opposite the Dupleix metro..only steps away, literally! The Nation line will take you to Charles de Gaul Etoile Metro from where you can get almost anywhere. Booked here to attend Roland Garros french tennis open , direct metro a short walk from hotel or if very lazy take metro at door and change after one stop.. Very convenient to different metro lines and RER direct to Versailles. A pleasent stroll to Eiffel Tower and Le Trocadero especially in the evening when all lit up, perhaps we were just lucky but no queue to go up tower at about 7p.m. Good restaurants locally. Our double room on the 10th floor was quite spacious, bathroom small but not cramped. Room nice and clean, facilities fine except there was no clock. Service at check in/out efficient. Breakfast buffet very good and staff helpful. Excellent location for Eiffel tower, and very pleasant restaurants nearby. Easy RER ride to other sights. In common with other reviewers, I might also question whether overall standard qualifies as 4*, but we had a very pleasant stay nevertheless.

We booked this hotel, thinking that is was by the eiffel tower, arrived and it was about 20 minutes away. The staff were really pleasant, the rooms were lovely. We requested wine to await us in the room on our arrival, this was not done. All in all very nice though.

My first comments are that the hotel was clean and the staff was friendly; however it is advertised as a four star hotel which it is defintly not! The rooms are tiny (which I know is typical in Paris but this was to an extreme), there is no restaurant (only breakfast), no iron or really any other amenties in the room. My husband and I also found the location a bit troublesome, in that it was a bit far from many of the sites, shopping, and nice restaurants. I booked this trip through a dutch travel agency while in Holland and they rated it as a 4 star hotel. I was dissapointed with the room. It was small and the bathroom was tiny but very clean. I booked 3 rooms for 4 people and I thought there was no way 2 people could have shared the one room I was in. I stayed in August and it was very, very hot. Me and my boyfriend came here last May. The location is perfect and for sight seeing you only have to look out of your room window! The room was quite small but adequate and clean. The hotel breakfast was excellent with something for everyone including the english! The hotel bar was nice and the staff very friendly although drinks were quite pricey.
