La Villa Hotel

Situated in a gorgeous area of antique shops and boutiques in St Germain de Pres, this hotel really is great. Set in a quiet side Street or Rue Jacob, it offers fabulous rooms. We had a King Size bed (two joined together), but the room was beautifully furnished. Modern retro. Bathroom ensuite was slate tiled with water coming out of the wall like a waterfall - complimentary robes, boutique shower gel, shampoo, soap, body lotion, shower cap and shoe mitt. Staff could not do enough for you. We didnt eat breakfast at the hotel, except for one morning in bed as a treat, as there are lots of great brasseries around. Just up the road is Le Maggot, Lipp Brasserie etc all listed in the top 10 guides.
The location is just over the river from the Louvre and a 10 minute walk from Musee D'Orsee.
It was Valentines weekend so we pushed the boat out and paid a little bit more for the hotel than we normally would and it was worth it.
My only complaint was the cost of everything. Breakfast was 16 euro's for continental both at the hotel or outside and we didnt find a coffee for less than 7 euros anywhere except McDonalds which we bypassed quickly! A bog standard lunch locally (2 sandwiches and 2 coffees) was between 40 and 60 euros!!!! So go expecting to spend!
Altogether a good trip - would recommend hotel if you are looking for a little luxury.
We flew air france and checked in on line - a great way to travel too (and cheaper than easy jet that weekend FYI)!
