My family and I went back to this hotel having previously visited in 2005. The reason we came back again was because we were so impressed with the hotel, the facilities and the staff. In our opinion the hotel had rapidly declined in the space of 1 year. Our bedroom was... more

Room for Improvement
After researching suitability of this hotel was a little bit disappointed with the reality. This is the 2nd hotel in the Voyage group we have stayed at [Belek being the other] and on each occasion the main problem has been noise disturbance. Yes this hotel has had major refurbishment during the winter, but the villa rooms we found minimalistic and not true to the photo representation on their website, although they have now updated. When problems were pointed out, reception and guest relation staff were slow to act, but after management intervention they tried their best to resolve the issues. It seems to be the luck of the draw regarding occupying a better villa with minimum noise disturbance and seaview, other guests we spoke to had this luxury, whereas we were definately in the noise zone - pool music during the day, disco music during the night, traffic noise most of the time and for the last morning a wake-up call at 5am-8am in what sounded like continual overhead helicopter noise which we subsequently were told was the back-up generator, in addition to inconsiderate russian guests banging and slamming doors, continuously walking in stiletto heels on the floor above at 4.30-6.30am. i would suggest that this hotel be changed to an 18-30 hotel as this seems to be the favoured clientele. 80% of the guests are Turkish; there does seem to be a problem in understanding English with the staff which can cause problems. However the management do seem to try their best; the managers are not as high profile as in other hotels and do seem to have the right attitude when dealing with staff & guests. The food was good, as were all beverages - waiter service was welcome rather than have to fight your way through to the bar area. Could have had more shop outlets, only one shop on site open from lunch onwards. Very hilly site but beautfully landscaped and the shuttle golf-buggies were welcome. The hotel is quite remote from Bodrum which I was aware of when booking, however it is also on the outskirts of Golturkbuku and transport is not frequent only a minibus every hour; the journey is not direct into Bodrum it stops at Golturkbuku bus station for 15-20mins and the fare is around 4lira each! In addition there seems to be a problem with bad odour from the drains especially when sat in the outside lounge area; this was also a problem wherever one went around the peninsula, so what it will be like in July/August I hate to think! While we were there the hotel invited Turkish celebrities to stay, so we were able to witness the extent the management would go to to ensure the comfort of so-called actors & models with film company's also in attendance - some stayed for the weekend - others longer but interesting to witness...... nice to know that paying guests become less important!! Not!
