I live in Talat Hotel Kusadasi since 3 weeks and I am happy. Talat is not a 5 star house but you do not pay 5 stars. No tv in my room but in the lounge. I have a good room with nice balkony and city panorama view, lift, small pool with 2 terraces and sunloungers and WLAN in ground floor. Breakfast comes with cheese, eggs, tomatoes, cucumber, jam, butter, bread or toast, tea, coffee, orange juice. Air conditioning if you like and pay. Personnel are very friendly and helpfully, the house is clean, dinner well cooked. From the hotel ten minutes walk to town center (old stone gate) or with cheap minibus to nearby "ladiesbeach" - for men too!

If you want to stay in a 5 star hotel and never leave it for a fortnight, never seeing the real turkey then don't go to this hotel.I stayed for two weeks and it was the best time I have had in the country having been there eight times peviously. The hotel is run privatley by a family the Talat's and Unal and miriam. Although the hotel is a little basic, the friendly helpful nature of the staff more than makes up for it. It is positioned in a part of kusadaasi that is a mix of residential and other hotels,5 mins to the centre and 10 mins to ladies beach. Book this hotel if you want real turkey and it,s people it is the best. Thanks Mr.Talat and because of your hospitality I will be back. Brilliant.

We Stayed there for one week in august, and although the hotel itself was minimal it was really clean, the rooms were cleaned every day and the eating area and pool area was also very clean. Also i have never stayed at a hotel before where the staff were so friendly, they were like family to us and really looked after us and went out of their way to make us happy. Overall, i was very pleased with my stay at the Talat hotel and we are definatly going to return there in the future, ill recommend it to all my friends :)

My husband and I stayed at the Talat Hotel this July (2009). The Turkish staff were very friendly and we had no problem with them at all. Its just that the hotel itself was VERY basic, no frills whatsoever. The pillows were as hard as stone. The rooms were not cleaned every day. The swimming pool was more like the size of a foot bath. The hotel is on a steep hill which you have to go up and down to get to the local town for restaurants, bars etc and the beaches - not good in the heat. The food reminded one of school dinners and you were never given any choice - we were half board and you got what you were given - very hit and miss. However, the worst aspect were the actual guests (which I know is not the fault of the Turkish family who run the hotel) - I kept thinking that Jack Nicholson was going to turn up from One Flew Over a Cuckoo's Nest - havn't the Scots heard of dentists??? Do they also know that you don't have to stay up all night drinking and still be sitting there with their alcohol whilst you are having breakfast? A man had even brought his wife who suffered from Alzheimer's Disease and left her suffering for hours in the heat alone .... Not the best of holidays ....

We were there for 2 weeks in July and August and we would recodmend it 100%. We were booked up for the Yorkshire apts but that was disgustingsomr Talat got us in because there was 1 more room. The staff were very nice and Marrianne transalated for us.Yonsha, Nilgan and nile were the maids at the hotel, it was cleaned 1 time a day. Marrianne was a very good influence on my son

The impression that the web page gives is very misleading.as far as the swimming pool is concerned it looks nothing like it does in reality. Also there are no televisions in the rooms and very few of the staff speak any english whatsoever, this proved to be a problem particularly at breakfast times. We took our 13yr old son with us, and, at breakfast we asked if we could have cereal for him as he doesn't like hard boiled eggs, which incidently, was the only thing on the menu.We were told that they would get cereal but for the whole 2weeks he never got anything to eat for breakfast which i feel slightly cheated by.The rooms were cleaned once a week and the towels were the same which i found hard to believe,as by this time the toilet started to get very grubby. The only reason i'm writting this letter is hopefully to prevent someone from having their holiday ruined the way ours was.

When we arrived the staff took our luggage which was nice not to have to carry it, however they were not all that welcomming, the breakfast was so dry, 1 hard boiled egg, 3 tiny peices of cucumber & tomatoe and feta cheese & dry bread (NO BUTTER!) EVERY DAY! The swimming pool was tiny and there was barb wire all around the lounging area which made it feel more like a hostel than hotel.
Overall i was not happy with the Hotel at all.
We did find a hotel called Club Hotel Lion which is about a 5 minute walk away and is open to non residents, there was free entertainment every night and it was a different world from the Talat Hotel, i loved it here and spent most of the holiday at the lion.
i would not recommend staying at the Talat Hotel to my worst enemy, instead for a few extra quid - i would definately recommend the Hotel Club Lion.
Once we got a feel for Kusadasi it was a nice place - a "MUST" is the boat trip - you get all food and soft drinks free all day and the best tan ever!!
Ladies beach is packed full and there was hardly room to walk, however Long beach had more room - but both were nice.
There is a Steak House in the main bizzarre area - They do the best pizza ever for only 9.50 Lira which is roughly £4.
Overall Kusudasi is nice and thank god for Hotel Club Lion!!

We were at the Talat for a week from 20.8.08. We both found the staff friendly helpful and very approachable contrarary to other reports. A simple "Merhaba" (hello) goes a long way as does some semblance of civility in the way folk in their own land are treated!!
The views from our balcony across all Kusdasi were lovely and great for drying clothes while you ate breakfast even!
At 2* I believe the hotel is definitely under-rated and would not hesitate to recommend it to others provided the short hill from the main street is not too great an obstacle. In fact, we found that it was really nice to wander through the side streets getting a real feel for the non-tourist way of life where without exception "Merhaba" was met with a ready smile and children did not hesitate to practice their English which was a heck of a lot better than our Turkish!!
Do it! :o)

I advise you never stay at Hotel Talat as my boyfriend and I went there for 1 week and felt really uncomfortable. Don't get me wrong it was very clean, but it has a hostile atmosphere and a complete lack of entertainment. The drinks were very expensive especially when you can get drinks much cheaper down the road with decent music, meals and an atmosphere. You cant take food or drinks purchased outside of the hotel into your room, even a drink to take to bed.
The swimming pool was very small, and not big enough for the people who were there, even though the hotel was not fully booked.
I would not recommend the hotel for anyone who has walking difficulties as it is at the top of steep hill, which makes access very difficult and discouraging when you want to nip out.

Hotel very basic, pool really small, breakfast was very basic. But once we had found our way around, we enjoyed our holiday.
The Lion hotel that we found, has 2 big swimming pools and is open to none residents. Ladies beach is just 20 mins. Walk very niece restaurants l can recommend Sherwood’s and Rosies very good food free starters. Went it to Kusadasi very much more expensive, although they offer free taxi service home.
In the shops around hotel Talat there is a little restaurant/bakery where they do pizza bread that’s to die for.
The weeks we staying it was Ramadan, so every morning around 4-30am. This guy comes around with a big drum waking all the local people up, so they can something to eat before the sun comes up.
Overall we enjoyed this holiday and would go back there.

I had an excellent holiday in kusadasi, Turkey. I was there for 2 weeks in June this year, 2011. Definitely the best holiday in Kusadasi I've ever had. Made lots of friends and only a 5 -10 minute walk into the Centrum. Miriam, her husband and the girls looked after us brilliantly and nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were cleaned everyday and we were given clean towels every second day. I'll definitley be back!!!!
