Nice Hotel BUT.....
from EdenCheltenham
My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Garden Elysee for three nights. The hotel and its facilities were pretty good generally and the room price we considered to be reasonable. We were really dissapointed that having arrived having driven from the UK, we were not allowed through the car park barrier so as to off load our luggage and had to empty the car on the street and hope (as we needed to check in) that we didn't receive a parking fine! Another annoyance.... we were overcharged for breakfast (all beit just 15 euros!)...

Great location and friendly staff!
from Jenster_7
My boyfriend and I have just returned from a 3 nights stay at the Garden Elysee from 7th to 10th March and had a lovely time. The hotel is located off a side street in a courtyard and looks very welcoming. All the staff we ever dealt with were very friendly and helpful too. The rooms are small but well appointed and very clean. There was a slight stale smell in the corridor and in our room so we kept the window open all day and night to freshen it up. The bathrooms are modern and clean and the bed was comfy too. Only had a sheet...

worst night's sleep in hotel
from gettingaround
I stayed here once before and had a quiet room on the top floor. This time, I was a late arrival: having requested a quiet non-smoking room and paid for a non-standard room, I was given a depressing room that stank of smoking (reception's attitude was tant pire) so the window - in February - had to be open through the night. The corridor outside the room smelt strongly of over subscribed lavatories. The room itself was clean: poor chambermaid having to work in this dump. The bed was clean too and the lavatory was very...

Management response from garden_elysee
we are very much concerned about these comments but unfortunately the client has been victim of several circumstances :
we had a little group celebrating something who has been noisy in spite of our recommendations (they were drinking and smoking in the garden)
we also sometimes discover that even if it is forbidden to smoke in non-smoking rooms, some clients make an exception.
we are really sorry for this inconvenience and understand the disappointment of this client, but some terms are too hard to accept, ex. "dump"when the hotel has been completely renovated in 2007
regarding the rates it was certainly an exhibition period (rates are higher) because our rates are normally competitive and reasonable

Quiet, classy and comfortable
from Jono_Melbourne
This hotel is excellent in all respects. The rooms are elegant and extremely clean, the bathrooms are terrific, the lobby has many newspapers for guests to enjoy, the buffet breakfast is a very high standard and the staff are very courteous and helpful.
Quiet and comfortable
from Imarph
We just returned for a stay in this hotel. The hotel is on a side street and is set back from the street so it is VERY quiet. We had a room at the front of the hotel and there was absolutely no noise! The room was VERY clean and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. We chose to eat at the numerous cafes in the area rather than the hotel. The hotel offers a small gym for those who are wanting to get some additional exercise. The staff at the front desk and the bell hops were very friendly and helpful. They spoke excellent...

Lovely, quiet hotel
from ukbosun
I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights with my wife. We had a wonderful time the staff were very helpful and friendly. I thought the location was great, close to the Arc and Eiffel Tower and close to a few metro stations. The price for our stay was a bit expensive, you can avoid the room service charges with a visit to the small supermarket close by. I would also highly recommend the Patisserie "Eric Kayser" for breakfast, they also have fantastic filled sandwiches for lunches. The rooms are not that big but large enough...

Very Good But Expensive Bar
from Sc0ttishGirl
I stayed here with my fiance for my 21st birthday in January 2007. The hotel was very nice and the staff very helpful. We had no problem whatsoever with the hotel. It was in a good position to walk to both the Champs-Elysees and the Eiffel Tower and was right next to a metro station. Only bad point with this hotel was that if your not quite rolling in cash, avoid the bar in the hotel. We paid 30euro for one normal sized vodka and coke and one normal sized malibu and pineapple. We were even more bothered when we realised the shop two doors...

Poor service and no hot wate
from A TripAdvisor Member
Checked into the hotel went to my room. The hotel is rated 4 stars but based on what I know about 4 star hotels the room was a 2 a best. Turned on the cold water to brush my teeth and no water came out. Tried to flush the toliet and turn on the tub and no water. Went to the front desk and told them to fix the water while I was out for dinner. got back from dinner went to the room and still no water. Changed rooms and each evening around 11 pm apparently they turned off the hot water. Asked for a restraunt recommendation for...

regarding the negative comments in reference we would like to point out that a few bathrooms were in renovation at that time and plumber cut the water and forgot to re-open it that day
also the person who gave you the wrong information does not belong to the team anymore
we are very sorry for the inconvenience and since the hotel has been completely renovated in a design style
Excellent Service
from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at this hotel over Easter 2004, We found the service standards excellent, and the staff could not do enough for us. Whilst the rooms are smaller than those in the U.S. We found the hotel to be peaceful and quite, but close enough to walk to both the Effiel Tower and the Champs Elysee. The hotel does not have 24 hour room service, but if you don't need to eat during your sleep I can recommend this hotel to you. For anyone travelling by car, there is a small charge, but we were able to park in front of reception for three days. In...

I stayed at the Garden Elysee for four nights over New Year with my girlfriend. The hotel is in a great location, just 15mins walk to the Champs Elysee and 15 mins to the Eiffel Tower but at the same time is in a fairly quiet part of town. The room was nice but maybe a bit on the small side but the bathroom was enormous and luxurious. The staff were very friendly and helpful and generally we enjoyed our stay in the hotel. The only reason why I haven't given the hotel five out of five is because the walls in our room was quite thin and we can...
