Extremely comfortable
I stayed at this hotel on business in Dec. 2005 for 4 nights with 2 other people in 1 single and 1 twin. From the points I have contacted the hotel before the staying by e-mail, they were always kind and helpful. And they has never disappointed us until we have checked out. Arrived at CDG around 4am and probably 5:30am at the hotel. It was very sweet of them to let us check in even such early time without any extra charges. Room were very clean and descent size, and as other people have already discribed, bathroom were large and lovely... more
Hotel d'Orsay - Wonderful small hotel
I booked direct with hotel and stayed 2 nights with my partner at this hotel in March 2005. I would recommend it to all my friends - it was wonderful. It is a fairly small hotel, one street back from the Seine and situated right by the Orsay Museum. The central location made it easy to get around. We walked from there to the Eiffel Tower, the Lourve and Arc de Triomphe. The underground is also within easy walking distance. Our room was a reasonable size with a large bathroom and separate toilet. The room was clean and tidy. The... more
Nice little hotel
I guess when assessing hotels its all relative to the city you are in, and in Paris, the term "expensive" and "large" is all relative. We chose the Orsay from the recommendations on this site and were not dissappointed. As reviewed, the location is fanastic. On various days, we walked to the Effiel tower and the Arc d'Triomphe right from the hotel. As mentioned, the hotel is just around the corner from the Museum D'Orsey and the Siene. Another great way to get around is to purchase a Boat tour (hop on/off) pass for a few days.... more
Hotel Orsay Rules!
It's small, lovely, and five stories high. Windows of larger rooms look down into the Rue de Lille, a quiet street housing the German Embassy and some other government offices, as well as apts. The smaller rooms look down into the quaint atrium garden in the back. At night with the window open you can hear the faint tinkling of the fountain. The breakfasts are fresh and fast, and can be had in the room at no extra charge. The staff are well informed and eager to help, and a shuttlebus to/from the airport can be arranged--you save... more
Great atmosphere!
We had a very enjoyable stay in this small hotel and found the rooms to be comfortable and larger than average for a Parisenne Hotel. The Staff were friendly and efficient and the breakfast excellent with fresh ingredients. The only downside for us was the distance to decent restaurants, but that can always be overcome by booking a taxi.
Lovely boutique hotel, great for the price
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel D'Orsay, and found it to be a comparative bargain and excellent quality for the price. The hotel itself is charming, with a comfortable and tastefully done sitting area in the lobby, and a lovely garden area adjacent to it. Our room (given the terrible exchange rate, we opted for the least expensive at EU 135) was tiny but very clean, comfortable and - again - charming. There was a nice and comfortable queen bed, a mini-bar, TV with two English channels and a desk. In addition, there was... more
Excellent Hotel in Paris
This is a small boutique hotel on the left bank one block to the west of and behind the Musee d'Orsay. We have stayed there twice, '03 and '04. The rooms have been large, bathroom super-large, and well supported by a competant and capable staff. Highly recommended. Just keep the windows closed in the fall, Paris has a few mosquitos! Our rooms were air-conditioned as well. Breakfast only. Most staff speak English too. Euros 155 per night, in 2004.
Number One
My family stayed at the Hotel d'Orsay for 5 nights during our stay in Paris and paid 160.00 euros per night for a triple. The staff was very accommodating, providing us with dinner suggestions for local restaurants and directions to local attractions via the metro. Our room was a little on the small side for a triple but had lovely balconies looking over the street. The spotless bathroom was enormous with double sinks and an oversized bathtub. The best thing about this hotel is location. You can walk to almost everything and it is in a... more
Fairytale two weeks!
I recently spent two weeks in Paris on my own. It was wonderful, everyone was helpful and polite. The Hotel D'Orsay Rue De Lille is situated in the most perfect position to explore Paris on foot, by bus or metro. The hotel was quiet people very helpful. Any woman wanting to travel on their own don t be afraid , I never felt alone, alsays someone to talk to, places to go, only problem I would have liked to stay another week at least!
D'Orsay a Great hotel
Warm and friendly, great staff. Super location one block from Musee d'Orsay, between several Metro/RER stops. Room 44 quite large, large ensuite facilities also.
