Bleu Marine Montparnasse Hotel

This is a great hotel. Very clean and modern rooms. We got our room from Expedia and only paid 85 euros. The staff at reception were extremely helpful and always willing to help with any tourist queries. The highlight for us was when we opened our curtains and looked down the road to see the Eiffel Tower at the end of it. Our stay in August was nice but on arrival had to get the porters trolley to take our own luggage up to our rooms as there was no one to assist us. Secondly, we requested rooms with a nice view but instead we got the back of the hotel which wasn't very pleasent. Apart from that the hotel was great. We stayed here for 3 nights in July 2006. We had 2 interconnecting rooms for our family of 4 on the 6th floor (no view). The breakfast was very good especially the yogurt and included in our rate. We had a problem with one of the bathrooms... the bath would not drain but it was fixed promptly and as we had 2 bathrooms we weren't inconvenienced. Paris was hot, 37C on our arrival and the ac at the hotel was wonderful.

We asked our Parisian friends to make a hotel reservation for us and this is the hotel we stayed in while in Paris. It was very nice, air conditioned, which was important as it was very hot in Paris during our stay. The staff spoke several languages, including English. Our experiene was excellent. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The hotel provides a sumptuous breakfast for 22 euros if you desire. We just got back from 10 days in France and this hotel was the perfect place to stay! We spent 3 days prior to arriving in this hotel in a small hotel in the country and while it was lovely, it was small and did not have air conditioning. And it was HOT in France last week. We reserved the hotel prior to going and got a great rate of 140 Euros a night. It might not sound like a good deal, but their walk in price is 250 a night and well worth it! My family and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and we were immediately impress from the time we entered the hotel. We were immediately serve. The hotel is modern and rooms are quite large and very clean and well equipped. We had a problem with our phone for doing long distance and have to ask frequently the customer service area for help on how to phone etc. but they were always helpful and never got tired of assisting us. We stayed at Blue Marine June 15-22, 06. Hotel is very clean, quiet. Just bring your toothbrush and toothpaste and you'll be fine. Staff spoke v. good english, was very nice. A/C was OK. Bufet breakfast everyday the same, but good. Hotel is close to Montparnasse train/ metro station which is in our opinion the most confusing station. It's like a giant labirynth. The hotel was nice and close to Metro BUT the service was atrocious! I have never been berated by hotel staff for ordering a pizza. i understand that they want the business in their restaurant, but it was 1am and we here hungry and we had just spent 100 bucks in their bar. It would have been nice if they had let us known ordering pizza was not allowed as i am not used to being yelled out like i was a child in the lobby, in front of other guests, the pizza driver and other hotel staff. I've been to Paris a few times now and have stayed in some good and not so good hotels. This was one of the GOOD ones. Staff were excellent, room was modern and very clean. Very good location next to Montparnasse station meaning easy access to several metro lines for travel within paris. Also within walking distance to Luxembourge gardens (about 20 mins). We were looking forward to our stay at this hotel after reading the reviews, but wondered if we were at the same hotel that we had read about. Our room was on the first floor, facing the ramp of the car park at the back of the hotel. Not to much of a problem, excpt that we had no net curtain at the window, so had to keep our curtains closed all the time so that we didn't get motorists using the ramp looking in at us.
