Vila Gale Estoril Hotel

Lovely hotel and staff, helpful and polite. Nice sized rooms, also kept very clean. Stayed on b&b basis. Good breakfasts but restaurant was pretty crowded in the morning. Nice size pool for dipping in, not really for swimming though. Casino, bars, beach front and transport all convenient to hotel. Couldn't really fault the place in any way and have recommended it to friends and family who all agree!

I went to Estoril with my husband to have a romantic break away from 'Over exposed areas'. This hotel is in the very best location, close to public transport (inc airport bus link), restaurants, tourist office, shops and most importantly a stone throw away from the beach! The breakfast provided was lovely. The food was always fresh and hot. The hotel staff were very helpful, polite and willing to help with anything. I highly recommend this hotel as it is in a prime location and close to all amenities.

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks in August and find it very good. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The bedroom was clean and spacious and there was a daily maid service. There was a full hot and cold buffet breakfast that was excellent, however the evening meal choice was poor so we did not eat there at all in the evenings. Stayed a week in August. Hotel is very clean, rooms spacious. Nice view to the beach, only problem was noise from the disco opposite, which went on until 5am at weekends. Breakfast was good, reasonable choices. We ate in the restaurant 2 nights and the food/choice was excellent. Pool area was small, not many beds, most of them were old.Staff in poolside bar friendly, as were bar and restaurant staff. Some of the reception staff a bit off hand. Stayed at Vila Gale for one week. Comfortable Hotel, rooms very clean. Sea View wonderful, however noise from new disco across the road on Tamariz beach, kept us awake until 6am!! Only complaint about hotel was very squeeky bed which needed to be thrown out! Pool area sufficient but with 'room service' prices at poolside bar. Beaches in area all spotless. Visit Carcavellos for a spot of surfing (only 25 euro for 2 hour lesson at Angels surf school). Nightlife limited in Estoril, but lovely walk along prom to Cascais where there are lots of... more

Excellent hotel and such good value for money. We chose it because of ace reviews here and we were not disappointed. Breakfasts were absolutely marvellous with a huge variety of choice and you can eat as much as you want...saved us money on lunches! The rooms were very comfortable and very well kept. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful ( with the exception of one or two receptionists who were less than helpful and rather unfriendly - the only minor drawback to the hotel.) My friend and i stayed for 4 nights in July. It was perfect for us. From lisbon airport it is handy to get the Scotturb bus that goes to within a 5 min walk of the hotel in estoril and costs about 8eurs. Room was lovely and spacious, breakfast excellent and staff really friendly. Pool area very nice also. I ate in an italian restaurant in estoril recommended by someone else on this site called Al Fresco and that was lovely so thanks for that!! Very easy to find, although the carpark could be more clear. Hotel is great, good location, clean and tidy 4star. good value too. Only problem is getting across the main road and railway track to the beach. Had some dodgy afterdark encounters in the subway at about 10pm. Just glad it wasn't much later as we'd have been mugged for sure. And no, I'm not exagerrating.... felt safer in downtown Phnom Penh than in some areas here!

My Husband & I stayed at the Villa Gale for 4 nights in June for our anniversary. We were upgraded for free to a sea view room which was lovely. The room was clean and the bathroom spacious and bright (perfect for doing make up etc.) I had called the hotel beforehand to arrange for champagne & flowers in the room, they were more than helpful and had the champagne ready & waiting in an ice bucket for our arrival. A good hotel in an excellent location - only 2 minutes walk to the beach and train station. The rooms were comfortable although the air con in the bedroom was not as efficient as I would have expected. The buffet breakfast was great and although we found the bar and restaurant staff friendly and helpful there were a couple of reception staff that were far from it. I would even go so far as saying they were quite rude! A very 'grand' bar area although slightly lacking in atmosphere - excellent Caiparhinas!!!
