Best Western Inglaterra Hotel

When we checked in, the room we had requested (king bed, non smoking) was not "available." We asked why and they said that non-smoking wasn't guaranteed. The first room they put us in had a leaky ceiling and we were put next in a small, dark room with two twin beds pushed together. After staying there for our first night, we were told they'd switch us to a better room the second night, but when we approached the (very rude) gentleman at the front desk the next day, they said it wasn't available. the hotel and the massage are very fine, but the breakfast is very poor and the other meals they don t have much choice

Myself and my boyfriend stayed here from 5th July till 12th. The hotel is very modern, funky and clean. We searched the internet looking for the best deal and eventually booked through travelrepublic who worked out the cheapest and flew from Manchester with Thomsonfly (through skyscanner to find the cheapest day to fly). We were a party of 3 family members and opted to share a suite in this area of Portugal which is a happy medium between having a city or seaside getaway. We stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks and had EXTENSIVELY searched on the web before choosing it. I read in Trip Advisor that the hotel had been refurbished by Best Western in 2004 and they did a pretty good job. The bedrooms are furnished beautifully, taking into account the elegance of te building's design. Also considering nearness to Casino, etc, surprisingly quiet. Perhaps the bathrooms could do with a bit more attention, eg the bath's resurfacing was wearing off. We have just returned from a week at the Inglaterra. It really was extremely good value for money. It was recently refurbished in 2004 and clearly has had the benefit of some professional design consultancy. The decor is modern yet doesn't dampen the colonial feel of the building. The hotel is quiet and the staff are unobtrusive rather than unfriendly - just how it should be. The pool and garden are secluded, peaceful, well-designed and well-kept. The hotel has now been fully refurbished, the breakfast is OK to above average, the staff are efficient but not over friendly, but they are Portuguese not Italian. One road is busy but not main. and even though we were on the bottom floor, the Garden Suite, there is robust double glazing so no real problem. The furnishings are good quality and very nice. We had a good holiday and would return to the resort and the hotel.

Having looked at the website - The hotel seemed to offer activities such as snorkelling, jet Ski-ing etc but there is nothing of the sort in Estoril. Damn liars. The Hotel in itself was ok but nothing spectacular - not the friendliest service but the swimming pool is good fun.

My husband and I stayed at the Inglaterra for two days during our honeymoon on our way back from a week in Madeira. I used to live in Estoril and wanted to show my husband the area without spending a fortune at the Palacio. A beautiful pool is this hotels saving grace. The hotel itself is DIFFERENT! It could be a splendid place if used to its full potential but most of the staff seem disinterested in serving the clients and the corridors are lined with extremely badly stained carpets which gives a general impression of 'seediness'. The rooms themselves are '3 star OK' but are only basically cleaned (our room did not see a vacuum cleaner in 14 days).
