Nice location for Warwick and Stratford
Spent one night at the Milsoms Hotel. It is in the old part of Kenilworth which was really lovely, far nicer than staying in the new part of the town. The hotel was very good. The rooms were very new I think, so the standard was high. They weren't large, but was fine for a one night stay. There is large car park at the back. The hotel was excellent value - got a Sunday discount. Breakfast is taken in the Loch Fyne restaurant, which is part of the same building. The quality was good, but the service was a bit haphazard. I have... more
Good location, tiny room
We booked on 6 weeks ago via the web and the first glitch was Milsoms email confirmation which had the same departure date as the arrival date. We took a copy with us , complete with their logo, but discovered as we got closer that it had no address or phone number, only the details of Loch Fyne's head office. We finally found it in a pretty part of Kenilworth. I had to leave my wife to check in as I had to go off to the local public car park since there was no space in theirs. We were given a tiny room but having dragged our luggage down... more
Nice hotel, tiny room
Very nice hotel to look at, great location with free parking. Welcome was superb, walked to my room. Bar drinks were lovely, and the attached Loch Fyne resturant food was very good indeed. Clean, recently refurbished quiet boutique hotel. breakfast was great, although you pay extra for anything above the continental selection (which itself was limited) Only gripe was the size of my room. I do a lot of business travel, and prefer a large room, and double bed, even though it's only me. Whilst I knew this was a single,... more
Great, small hotel
We booked this hotel on an offer of £50 for the two of us and all though Google maps did it's best not to get us there, we eventually found the hotel in the nicer side of Kenilworth. We were able to park literally straight outside the door. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room we had was lovely as spacious as we could have needed, and everything was very clean. The bed was also very comfortable and not at all like a hotel bed! There were some lovely pubs in walking distance of the hotel and then we returned for an... more
Good Hotel
Arrived to find a very clean and pretty hotel in a lovely location, check in was easy and trouble free with polite staff. After a long day driving and working we were looking forward to a nice nights sleep only to find however that our room was lit up by what felt like a floodlight from the outside light for the hotel sign, after discussing this with reception staff we were moved to another room which was much better and also bigger than our previous room (bonus), as the rooms do appear to be very small with not enough room to swing a... more
Lovely Small Hotel
My husband and I stayed at Milsoms for 3 nights to attend a funeral in Kenilworth. Our flight was arriving very early in the morning and I knew we would want to rest and freshen up for the day. When booking I asked if I should book for the night before to insure that a room would be available, but I was told it would not be necessary and true to their word, we were able to check in at 8 a.m. The hotel is exceptionally clean and our room was nicely furnished in a contemporary style, although the room was very small. The beds are very... more
A lovely hotel in Warwickshire
We stayed here for one night in December. The hotel is new and has a new and fresh feel about it. The staff were extremely helpful and we were shown up to our room by the receptionist on arrival. The room was not huge but very tastefully decorated. The bathroom was very modern and clean. A continental breakfast was included in the price but a cooked breakfast was an additional charge. There was a reasonable choice of food in the continental option but no apparent vegetarian option for the cooked. All in all, a lovely hotel... more
Asset to Kenilworth!
I stay in Kenilworth on a regular basis on business. I have tried and tested many of the towns hotels and eventually settled for a large corporate hotel in the town centre. When visiting Kenilworth, I enjoy dining at a variety of restaurants the town has to offer. It was to my delight when I found out that a Loch Fyne seafood restaurant was opening in the town, and even better, it was to have an adjoining hotel. I had dinner and stayed at the hotel shortly after the opening. The hotel was tasteful and contemporary, with a warm and welcoming... more
A mixed bag
We stayed two nights at the Clarendon House Hotel in Kenilworth, as a mini-break. We booked this last minute, and saved a substantial sum on the normal prices. We chose a four-poster room, as we had been warned that rooms could be small, and suspected that a four-poster bed would probably be in a larger room. Check-in was efficient, and we arrived in our room. This was pretty small, and rather dominated by the bed. However, it was big enough for us and our belongings. On the other hand, the en-suite bathroom was very poor. The... more
Great Hotel
Small, traditional hotel - the Americans would call it quaint. Comfy ensuite bedroom. Being an old hotel the layout of the first floor is not very logical so we got royally lost and the stairs were quite steep, however I believe there are rooms on the ground floor too. The hotel is situated in the heart of the conservation area (the posh part), but away from the main shopping area of Kenilworth. Near to a couple of very good pubs and a few shops. There is parking around the back of the hotel.
