Excellent value for Money
We booked this hotel through the website and were pleased at the price which was reasonable for a room and breakfast. The rooms/hotel have recently been refurbished and were very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful and I would recommend this Hotel for a short break.
Clean, Comfortable, Friendly
I stayed here 22/1/08 for 1 night whilst on business. Check in was complete within 2 mins and the room was modern and clean. All the usual facilities. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the service was also good. I will be returning to Tamworth in 2 weeks time and will be stay here again.
Comfortable Stay
Stayed at this Ramada as part of a coach party, despite the hotel being full, it was a pleasant stay with friendly staff. Had a meal in the hotel which was reasonalby priced and well cooked. The room was clean and comfortable
Very Nice!
When we arrived the hotel looked very up together (carpark and exterior.) It was also not as near to the road as i thought it would be judging by other reviews. The inside of the hotel was lovely, very clean modern and welcoming. The staff were also very helpful. Menu was very nice, food delicious! Room was big for the money, and had everything we needed, kettle, hair dryer, biscuits etc! Bed extremely comfy, and bathroom was brilliant, clean, spacious and up together. You can even listen to the tele when your having a bath! All together this made our onward journey to the snowdome (which was only fifteen minutes away) 10 times better.
covenient location for onward travel
Very much like a travel inn with a restaurant. Better rooms though, with tea tray and biscuits. Specials in the restaurant reasonably priced, and nice to eat as well. This is very near the motorway, so some traffice noise. For a quiet room, get one at the back. If you overlook the inner courtyard, you can be woken by the sound of smokers having a puff in the shed provided. Clean room, friendly staff, good restaurant service I paid 65 pounds for one night. Breakfast expensive at 7.50pounds. Suggests dealing with the hotel directly to get roomrate inc breakfast.
Reasonable stop over hotel
We stayed at the hotel on a Friday night after a day at the Snowdome. It is one junction up the M42 from the Snowdome but it only took a few minutes. The hotel is close to the motorway and next to the service so good for petrol and Mcdonalds but not so scenic. There is loads of secure parking. We had a family room which was just about big enough for two adults and two children (11 and 8), if the kids were any older it would have been a little cramped but we had no complaints. The main bed was comfortable and the room was a good size just for two. The room and bathroom were clean. The room was not air conditioned and due to the location it was a little noisy to open the window, thankfully, it was not too hot a night. Our check in went well but we were behind group who had problems with their reservation, however, the staff were great and very helpful to them and us. The bar and bistro area is in the lobby and is well done though I am not too sure how warm it would be in the cold of winter sitting near the main door. We ate out in the nearby pretty village of Applby Magna so can't comment on the the food in the hotel but it looked OK at standard hotel prices. Beer was reasonably priced. The room was good value but be carefull when booking online with children in the room because our price did not include a 'making up the bed price' of £10 per child, check your invoice to avoid a surprise. Overall we were happy the hotel and would stay again, although our personal preference is the Premier Travel Inn. It is closer to the Snowdome, £20 a night cheaper when you include kids and is next to the Beefeater restaurant. This, of course, is a matter of personal preference as the bar and restaurant at the Ramada are well done.
Great hotel
We stayed here for one night last Saturday. It's a great hotel - large spotlessly clean rooms, comfortable beds and we had a full cooked buffet breakfast which was excellent value for money. The foyer area in particular is very modern and attractive and the staff were very friendly. A great stop over.
by FAR the BEST out there!!!
We went to Tamworth; which is a place in the middle of almost no where (",), and most of the buildings where country side houses/buildings, the only exception was this hotel, it was VERY modern and nice...........We stayed for two nights, the room (double) was big and comfortable with a nice bathroom for relaxing...and there is a small speaker in the bathroom that is connected to the Tv outside; so you can put on the radio channels from the TV and listen to it while you are in the bath....(",), The hotel has its own resturant; which was nice; and the food is exceptionally good; and secondly the nearest food place is McDonalds which is 2 mins away and then you are about 30mins from any food place..............don't blame the hotel; blame the area...........by the way, we went there to go to Drayton Manor; which was just the worst theme park ever.........check my review about it......... I recommend this hotel to everyone who is going to tamworth.........
Fawlty Towers
I'm on my second night of a 4 night stay. Already, they've mucked up the booking (only reserved 1 room when I booked 2 on their own website), checked me out by mistake, checked someone else into my room after checking me out by mistake (they complained to the staff about all my stuff being in their room!!) and the reception staff are rude. The restaurant is overpriced. Also, if you're on work, note that there are no irons or trouser presses in the rooms. Plus, this place is in the middle of nowhere. If you really have to stay in the area, at least the beds are comfy. Otherwise AVOID!!
Just a comment
I am only writing to let you know that the hotel is nowhere near Birmingham. It would take about 40 mins to drive on the motorway to birmingham , on a good day. The hotel is actually near Measham and is in Leicestershire. To call it Birmingham seems very far fetched. It would be like calling an hotel at heathrow London.
