Tryp Oriente Hotel

Reviews said this hotel has comfortable beds -- true. It is near the airport and serves continental breakfast from 4 am (regular breakfast from 7 am) so was a great place to stay when we had an early morning flight. Taxi from hotel (no waiting for one) took only 5 minutes. Hotel is new, very clean, and in an area with several good restaurants. Also very near the metro if you wished to go into the downtown.)

Sometimes you don’ need no stinkin’ charm! Sometimes you just need a clean, comfortable, large, modern, quiet, well-equipped room with a great shower, where everything works. We stayed here our last night in Lisbon because it is close to the airport, a 5-minute cab ride. It’s also a block away from a subway station, and the subway in Lisbon is superb. I stayed alone in the Tryp Oriente for just one night. The hotel has a good location if you are traveling by train or to the airport. It is just 5 minutes by taxi and that is the best you ca find in Lisbon. There was a taxi just outside the hotel and it was very convenient, since it was 6 in the morning. The room was very good, with a very big bed, sofa, sofa, a large TV and desk. Very confortable and clean. The bathroom was great and big, with all the facilities you could want. Just returned from 3 nights at the Tryp Oriente and what a great location, the view was wonderful as was everything else. Staff were all friendly and efficient, location is close to airport, train station, metro and bus station a great shopping centre-Vasco de Gama. It is easy walking distance to the river and the cable car and aquarium. Breakfast has a good choice, and we had dinner in the restaurant which was also very good. I travelled with my family and was happily surprised to see that, against my own prejudices, we were in a lively area with a lot of restaurants, bars, pubs, all just next to the river. The area was designed for the Expo 98 and looking very much like a harbour (there's even an "Oceanario" which I very much recommend). A very Good localization for spend some days in Lisbon in Tourism or Business, just in Orient Station, Parque Expo and Lisbon Casino

This is a great hotel - wonderful location. Not just near the railway station and the Metro (for easy access to Lisbon centre) but as part of the site of Expo 98 very well placed in its own right. We enjoyed our stay enormously. Great view if you make sure you are at the front of the hotel

I booked the Tryp Oriente because of its proximity to the airport, plus the fact that Sol Melia consistently provides quality properties at reasonable prices. It was indeed convenient to the airport (5 - 10 minutes by taxi) and next door to Oriente Station for those traveling by train or bus. The weather was horrible (pouring rain) the day / evening I was there, so I was glad to have the Vasco da Gama mall across the street for some indoor entertainment. This hotel is my choice whenever I have to sleep in Lisbon. Its location is quite good, near a major train station and relatively close to the airport. Moreover, it is located in the centre of “Parque das Nações” (where the Expo98 was held), which offers a wide range of entertainment, including museums, restaurants and a shopping mall. We wanted to be near Oriente Station for our last night in Lisbon. It cost more than we usually spend - 105 EUR - but we were very well pleased. Room 901 was a large L-shaped room with a stunning view over the river and world fair sites. Nice helpful staff too - not always something you get in posh hotels! (we arrived with two large backpacks & they also kept our suitcase for us for several days even though we were only staying there for one night) Breakfast was good too.
