Holiday Inn Leamington Spa-Warwick

I have rated this hotel above average but we did have a problem during our stay. The hotel in entirely refurbished and is in very good condition. The staff just couldn't be faulted and the evening meal was one of the best we have had anywhere. The hotel seemed to have a problem possibly with the central heating system. We were en route for a business meeting and my husband was unable to get to sleep due to a constant buzzing noise. At 3am I contacted the night manager who was very helpful and changed our room. Have stayed here twice recently for Buisness purposes, very pleasant stay better room on the second occasion a little noisy the first time. Only complaint is there is no air con and the window was locked to only allow a small amount of air in. A fan is provided but don't think it would cope with a hot day. Like the ice machine. Dinner was reasonable good variety of choice, the bar was running out of white wine but due to a failed delivery so not their fault. Booked hotel for a weekend break. Although the hotel is on a business park, we found it really relaxing and peaceful. The entrance reception, lounge bar and restaurant are light and airy. Our room was excellent, we had 2 double beds and lots of space. It was exceptionally clean, especially the bathroom. This used to be Courtyard by Marriot until very recently - Holiday Inn have now taken over. I was staying on a Sunday night although I was shocked at how empty the place was - I was able to park right near the front door. I booked up via the website a few days before and got a great deal on an 'executive' room, not that much better although you do get a mini bar, dressing gown and fancy stuff in the bathroom. This hotel is very nice if you are travelling by car, however, by foot from the railway station it is a good 20 minute walk through an industrial area which seems to go on for miles (we got lost). There is not much in the area of the hotel to do (About a 10 minute walk to Frankie And Bennys), and a slight walk further will take you to 2 very nice pubs which serve meals. The hotel is a standard business hotel, rooms are off a reasonable size with a large bed and the service is very good. My hotel price included dinner which was of a reasonable standard although the restaurant décor is a bit dated. I would recommend this hotel for business traveller who need to visit the near by companies however for tourist unless you can get a really good deal I would suggest staying in a hotel with a bit more character.

My stay at the Leamington Spa Courtyard was most pleasant. The hotel is quite small and is great for one or two nights stop over. It is very close to Warwick Castle, which is a must see. There is a shopping complex within walking distance which contains, boots, KFC, Benny and Jerrys. The room is very basic, however the bed was massive. The room was clean and had a good choice of tea, coffee etc. No mini bar, but they are usually expensive. The breakfast was very good, eat as much as you want and a good array of choice.... more

Has to be the worst hotel we have ever stayed in in England. If you must stay here, avoid the restaurant like the plague, unless you like burnt offerings

We stayed at the Courtyard Marriot in Leamington Spa in January. Really enjoyed the hotel. Clean rooms and friendly staff. English breakfast which includes hot and cold items along with breads and cereals. You can have eggs special made to order. You have the option to have the paper delivered to your door in the morning. Quiet rooms. Hotel rooms vary in sizes. First time we stayed our room was about the size found in an American hotel.
