Fabulous resort/hotel, truly 5 star, highly recommend
Newly built development where service and facilities are excellent, situated over looking both the beach and Vilamoura marina.
Hotel rooms available as well as privately owned apartments which are available to rent.
Two fresh water pools and access to beach
5 Golf courses nearby, the Victoria is great. Vilamoura and the lake resort is an ideal holiday destination.

The resort complex is superb, but we booked this at great expense for five star service and if that's what you want - do not go here in October.
From the day we got there nothing in the way of facilities was as described or as you would have expected from a five star resort.
The general excuses given by the management were that as it was not busy it was ok to:
1) Turn off all the outdoor pool heat
2) Close the infamous "lake pool" for refurbishment
3) Cut down trees around the poolside for one whole week
4) Have only one restaurant out of three open and maintain only one menu for two weeks.
5) Dig up the front entrance causing considerable noise and mess
6) Supply no "poolside service" on any occasion over a two week period unless we took a five minute walk into the main bar.
7) Be warned this is not a five star service resort hotel and I would not recommend this to anyone looking for great service.
8) My comments to the general manager were that: If I happen to be the only person staying at the resort would it be acceptable for me to have to clean my own room and cook my own meal in the restaurant? As he felt it was fair to shut down almost all the facilities as they were not very busy.
