Ipanema Park Hotel

I paid €68 for a room I enjoyed. The hotel is fine but by charging such low rates they attract a crowd that would not afford it if that same hotel was located in any other european city!! The included breakfast was very fine and the roof-top pool was great (free). I did not use the hotel parking as it was easy to find street parking during the week-end I was there. I loved Porto and classify is as one of my 3 most beautiful cities in the world. Hotel is located between the beach of Foz and the old city.

We stayed here 4 days to attend a family wedding and wanted a hotel near the old town and not too far from the beaches at Matoshinos. The room was great, large with a fabulous view over the river and out to sea. The bathroom was spotless with 2 large sinks and a very powerful shower which was very welcome. We paid €51 per night for this hotel through ratestogo and were impressed that we could get all the spa facilities for this price. However, it turns out the spa facilities are extra €5.50 per use of indoor pool, €5.50 to use the sauna and steam room. Also, parking turned out to be €10 a day when we could have parked around the corner for free! Rooms were average, more 3* than 5*. this hotel is miles from the centre of PORTO if your coming for a short stay i am sure you will find equally good hotels closer the centre as for the rooms 4 stars ahem... no coffee making facilities .. domestus stains in the carpet. i stayed on the 7th floor breakfast is included in whatever price you pay but really i attempted to walk from centre to hotel yesterday.. took me best part of 90mins and its killing me to think i have to get taxi or bus each and everytime i want to go to centre.. my sister... more

Stayed there as part of a conference, so got a very reduced rate of €75/night. The hotel was excellent, and staff could not be faulted for their helpfulness and friendliness. The rooms were very well furnished and comfortable. The bathroom was bigger than some hotel rooms I've stayed in in the past! No problems with windows or leaks, as reported by another reviewer. The bar was comfortable, if expensive (it is a five star hotel, so that's par for the course), and the breakfast was very good.

This is a lovely hotel we stayrd in Jul 06, the staff are very friendly and helpful and for the price (£50 a nite b+B) it really was brilliant value.The rooms are comfortable, very clean, and the air con works very well. The only problem i found was there are no shops or restaurants near by, there is always taxis outside and a bus stop across the road but if i was back again i would have stayed nearer to the centre. I stayed at the Ipanema Park with my husband and some friends in October 2006, having negotiated a special offer of EUR90 per room per night B&B. Upon our arrival on the first day we were given a free upgrade to an 'executive' double room. Within the first few minutes we could hear a 'drip drip' sound by the window. I have to say that I loved this Hotel! The personal was great, the room excelent and the price was not expensive. I would definitly stay here the next time!! Everything was great!!

My wallet with extra money was left in the room on January 2, 2006 as I went out for an afternoon tour of Grahams winery, leaving with just the needed amount of cash and credit cards. Upon my return, my electronic key mysteriously did not work. I went to the desk to get it re-activiated and that is how they prevented me from accidentally walking in on their theft. This hotel is just beautifull. The personell was really helpfull and advised us a terrific restaurant in Porto and made arrangements for it as well. Prices of the hotel rooms are very low in july/ august period. Rooms are excellent and views are nice, we stayed on 10th (or eleven, don't remember) floor! During low season the hotel was not busy, and personell was at our services at all times. Also hotels restaurant is very good, they make very good vegetarian meals as well.
