Clean hotel, friendly staff. Set in beautiful grounds with outdoor chess set, Jenga etc for kids to play with. Small but clean swimming pool.
Very substantial and fresh breakfast. Family room was reasonably priced and there was plenty of room for 4 of us. Food in the hotel can be quite pricey and the restaurant a little too up market for eating with a rowdy toddler in tow although there is a lounge to order light meals. All the staff were pleasant and eager to help. I would recommend this hotel to couples and families wanting a quite break.
It is a good base to explore Gloucester & Cheltenham but in the nearby village there are few amenities - a shop, church, pub and village local club. All in all a lovely stay in wonderful, peaceful surroundings.
