Stayed here with my husband just for one night and was extremely impressed with the courtesy and friendliness of the staff. The hotel has recently been taken over by new management and the staff were very helpful and took time out to find out where we had come from and... more

The hotel is situated in the middle of the town in the middle of the Cotswolds. We managed to get a reasonable deal but would certainly not pay full price. The rooms are a little on the small side and definitely has the "old" original feel to it with the creaky... more

The hotel has been refurbished with fairly recent bedroom furnishings and a possible poor paint job on the bedrooms. The bed was like sleeping in a park bench. The cleanliness was pretty poor. The bathroom was disgraceful with disgusting shower - it all needed pulling out... more

Overpriced and stayed in better B & B's in the area
The heated towel rails weren't heated the bed was the most uncomfy we've ever slept in the room was cold heavy traffic noise as room looked out onto main road very limited parking spaces service at breakfast shocking on check out we were never asked if we'd enjoyed our stay or similar
Wicked stay
This Hotel is situated in the Heart of Moreton in Marsh, wich is a great little town. On check inn we received a warm welcome from the South African Manager, who also made us feel so welcome during our whole stay. The service in the restaurant was excellent, the waiting on staff was obviously well trained, very quick and efficient. The food was the best that we had in a long time, and we would definatley be back. They have 8 new rooms coming towards the beginning of november I was told, wich we look foward in trying... more
Superb Service, Surroundings & Steak!
Morton in the Marsh is a lovely Cotswold town, along with Stow on the wold full of great antique shops & tea rooms. The Royal White Hart is in the middle of the town centre with lots of free parking close by. The hotel has recently been renovated and is a credit to the owners commitment to detail. The staff are exceptionally professional and made our short break all the more enjoyable. My wife and I would recommend it without reserve, and will be revisiting again soon, to explore more of the wonderful area. The food was perfect and I can... more
Almost there, but not quite.
I understand the place has been recently refurbished, and in fact they are soon to complete some more rooms in the old stables and I have to say the fixtures and fittings and general decor is excellent. The place has a lovely feel. But, I feel a little more attention to detail and some staff training is required if the experience of staying here is to match the standard set by the interior designer. What does that mean ? Well, when we booked, we were shown the room that was available, it was at the far end of the hotel and... more
Fabulous and Convenient!!
We chose this hotel based on several websites (including information found on TripAdvisor). The staff was friendly and responsive to my initial emails and any requests when we finally arrived. Be warned. This is not a place for folks of unsure footing or those that cannot abide by stairs. This is an historic site and as such some items cannot be changed (stairs/stone flooring). This hotel had better internet service than where we stayed just days later in central London. We were able to walk to the hotel after a transatlantic flight... more
Quality, value and experience of dining
I would agree that its only worth looking at the reviews since the refurbishment in March 2009. There were three of us in the party and quite exhausted after the day at the Moreton in Marsh show so it was releif to get a table and a good drink. the bar area is clean and you feel that you are part of a very old inn (well it does go back beyond the Civil war I understand). We had to wait a tad for our meal but that was as itrs was so busy. the food was excellent quality and great value for money. Well worth the stopping in.
Must try harder
Last week with my wife we travelled to the White Heart for our anniversary meal. the service took too long and the restaurant, was very dark, the food was very mediocre, tables to small, staff friendly but slow. On entering the hotel you have to try and walk along a very uneven passageway made from upturned stones, not very safe for anyone with wallking difficulty or young children. Rest rooms located along walk from the restaurant especially the ladies rest room.
great place to stay
great hotel with great food good location to visit other market towns only winge!! not the best for real ales-partner a real ale expert
Recent renovation has totally transformed this lovely old hotel
Stayed in King Charles suite for 2 nights which has been tastefully refurbished to a very high standard. We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant on both evenings which was excellent having a wide choice of dishes including vegetarian. The lounge areas were very relaxing and an ideal place to unwind and enjoy a pre-dinner drink also having had a complete makeover. The staff was friendly and attentive and appeared eager to ensure that guests enjoyed a pleasant stay.We were fortunate to meet the new owners who kindly showed us the next development... more
a lovely Cotswold hotel
Ignore the reviews written before the recent refurbishment. The hotel is now an excellent place to stay. We had a beautiful, spacious room overlooking the main street. The room was tastefully decorated. The staff could not do enough for us, they were polite and friendly. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation and feel it was probably one of the nicest places we have stayed in recent years,
