Lower Slaughter Manor Hotel

My now husband and I stopped at Lower Slaughter Manor for our honeymoon. To be honest, the hotel is extremely overpriced for what you get. Do not get me wrong the food is absloutely delicious, and the communal parts are very nice, however, the rooms (we stopped in Antoinette) were drab and in need of some modernisation. My wife and I spent three nights at Lower Slaughter Manor in May and were delighted by the experience. Lower Slaughter is one of the more picturesque villages of the Cotswolds and the hotel has a fine setting within the village. We had a superior room in the main house which was huge and very well appointed. My husband and I stayed regretably only 1 night ( a Saturday) and it was faultless.The staff were so attentive, the room was delightful, and the food was excellent It was the perfect way to de -stress, I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

We stayed in a suite in the Coach House, which was just across the courtyard from the main building. The suite had its own separate lounge area to relax in. The hotel is in an extremely peaceful setting, within beautiful grounds. I would stay there again just for the breakfast, which was the best I have ever had anywhere. We found the staff to be most courteous and attentive to our needs.

I booked this hotel on the web for my parents to celebrate my father's birthday. My 1st choice was Cliveden but after numerous phone calls and impersonal emails I would NEVER choose to stay at Cliveden. Lower Slaughter Manor reception could not have been more friendly, helpful & welcoming to me (as I was making the arrangements from the US) or my parents who enjoyed a fabulous stay there. My husband and I have stayed at Lower Slaughter Manor on two separate occasions in recent weeks. On both occasions we were warmly greeted and instantly felt at home. All the staff were courteous and professional but at the same time were most personable-nothing was too much trouble. All the public rooms are a joy to unwind and relax in with one having a grand piano. One of the guests entertained us all on the piano providing a wonderful end to the evening. A lovely manor house in a quaint cotswold village. The four poster room (Antoinette) is stunning. Service is friendly and the staff go out of thier way to assist. Meals are wonderful. Good value for money. Give yourself a special treat! Very romantic.
