Today got back from Hotel Petros, this was a basic hotel, with a boring basic breakfast, the coffee machine was old and leaked, whilst the orange juice was really squash. It was slightly out of the way and although a 20 minute walk to the beach, this seemed much longer in the heat of the sun.
The hotel was cleaned daily and we regularly saw the one and only cleaning lady, (poor girl, worked really hard), the hotel was a bit scratty around the edges and needed more input from the owners, who put the price of drink and food up as the day went on, whilst music played at the pool bar from 10 in a morning until 12 at night.
We asked for a quiet room, and did get one but it overlooked the park hotel and pool, which was very noisy until 7 oclock at night, although their pool area was really cleaned and looked after by the owner, upon investigation, we thought this was a better quality hotel than the Petros and much more comfortable. Our room was changed to a quieter one but this was not available until the fifth day. We only stayed a week, but that was enough. The reception staff of the Petros were friendly and the hotel rep Michelle, was lovely. We were able to get a cooked breakfast but not until 10 oclock, it would have been nice to have it as an added option at the normal breakfast time as we had to walk into town to get one at half past eight. The play area for children was very poor.

I stayed in Hotel Petros two years runing 2007 and 2008 the first year i went was my first time abroad ever and was worried what to expect.its situatied just out side tisvli on a main road but its just a five ten min walk to the centre its a bit longer to the nearest beach. i got there really early in the morning and was made welcome by the receptionist. the room was nice but basic we had two single beds pushed together for a double and only one pillow each which was rather uncomftable. the cleaners where in every day changed the beding and left clean towels. the breakfast was basic but nice. the pool area was nice and clean plenty of beds free of charge and the pool area was surouned with bushes which made it more privet. The pool bar served food which was very nice the bar and all the hotel staff were friendly and we stayed in the bar most nights the owner made us feel welocme and even invited everyone who was staying in the hotel to his daughters naming ceremony which was nice and even reconised us the following year by name even though they see hundres of people.its best to book sightseeing activits through an indpendant shop not your tour op as its loads cheeper
- Advice: its a nice little resort ideal for familys lots to see and do
- Activities: popeyes restaurant and island tours higly recomened

We came back from Petros 2 weeks ago and overall we were very pleased with the hotel. The staff were all very friendly and happy to assist with any questions. The rooms, although very basic were clean and tidy. Please bear in mind that you do have to pay for the Air con & fridge facility - both of which were desperatly required!!
The only negative points regarding the rooms are the very hard beds and the single pillow you are allocated. Try and make sure you request a room with a balcony the first room we were put in was on the ground floor, next to the reception area - this was noisy and very dark as we couldn't open the curtain due to people walking past! We upgraded to a balcony room - again an additional charge was made though.
We didn't bother with the breakfast for most of the week as this is very basic..bread rolls/cereals/tinned peaches/cake etc. We would recommend that you pay the extra and go to the pool bar where the choice and standard of food is great and very reasonable.
The pool area was great, very clean and there are loads of sun beds to lounge on.
Petros hotel is around 10-15mins walk from the main town, which was perfect. There are loads of bars and restaurants to choose from. We would recommend the Mexican & The Olive Tree - a lovely greek taverna. There is an itallian restaurant (the first one you would come to from the hotel) this was terrible and we would suggest you walk further into the town and try one of the others.
Overall, Tsillivi is a lovely place if you are looking for a relaxing break. We are a young couple and found it ideal, however I wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for a holiday full of partying!

We (5 adults) have just returned after a 2 week holiday at the Hotel Petros. We loved it. The hotel is basic but comfortable, very clean, and quiet. All the staff are very friendly. The poolside bar serves very good snack meals. The hotel is nicely situated within a short walking distance to numerous good restaurants and bars. We will definitly return to Hotel Petros.

Having just got back from a great holiday in a lovely resort and really nice hotel and just wanted to share my thought's about the place.
The Hotel was very nice and very clean and fresh, the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The Rooms were cleaned everyday and it didn't matter if you slept in they would clean them while you were out.
The area around the pool was clean and the Bar was spacious, the Bar Snacks were very tastey and well worth there money.
If I had to make one complaint it would be about the bed being too hard and the pillows too small and the cockerel over the road which would of been turned into a kebab if I'd stayed any longer.
All in all had a great time and would deffinetly go back again.

I've just come back from my holiday and it was great. The Hotel Room was very clean and fresh with lot's of storage space.
If I had to make one comment about the room it would be the Bed and before the week was out I was begining to feel every slat through the matress ( but didn't stop me from sleeping though ).
The Hotel staff are very friendly and helpfull and nothing is too much trouble for them. The Pool Bar was very nice and the Bar Man was very funny and Friendly. The Bar snack's were well worth there value in money and very tasty.
I was very happy with the overall stay considering it was only the second week of the Holiday Season and they seemed well prepared, I would deffinetly go back again.

We went to Zante for two weeks and had a brilliant time. We stayed at hotel Petros which lived up to all the reviews we read about it - a really friendly place, good location, and very quirky bar man!
All the staff were great.
Good clean rooms though, although the bathrooms are sometimes less than you'd expect, but not bad. Make sure you find out when there is hot water available - its solar heated, so cold in the mornings!!
I'd recommend hiring a car so that you can explore a little, and if you can get a few miles south of Tsilivi there are some great beaches, smaller and not as well known as the bigger ones around the main towns. My favourite place on the island has to be a small beach near the roadside about 5 km's past the blue caves (driving from Tsilivi) - Just fantastic, with very clear waters due to the pebble beach and lots of marine life to see as they fish/octopus/shellfish can hide and feed amongst to rocks and pebbles of the sea floor.
Another great place to see was Maries - a very Roman/Sicilian looking hillside village on the slopes of the mountain. Very unspoilt and really rustic, but as we were there in the middle of the day, we saw no locals at all - too hot for them to be outdoors!
Places to avoid from memory are banana beach - that was quite a boring place really, being very open to the wind and not as pretty as the other beaches. Some of the noisier restaurants and bars in the towns that try to entice you in with horns/whistles or bells.... they just drive you mad with all the incessant noise.
Other than that, very good. Overall it's similar to Kefalonia, which can be quieter and more civilised, but Zante has more of a bustling feel to it, and we found it to be a little cheaper all round than Kefalonia.
My wife went back to hotel Petros again and loved the relaxed atmosphere of the island so I can recommend it as somewhere you would more than likely return to...

Hotel Petros is a great hotel, being just a short stroll to the bars and clubs, it's close enough to the nightlife without having to suffer the noise. It's also a bit of a walk to the beach, but the hotel pool is lovely with a section just for the kids, plenty of sun loungers and the pool bar has everything you could want.
The hotel is small, friendly and cleaned daily. Breakfast is obviously going to be Greek so lots of bread, cheese, cereal, coffee, but if that doesn't tickle your fancy they also do cooked breakfasts from 10am at the Pool bar.
The staff are definitely the best selling point for the hotel, though. Marta on reception is a star always going out of her way to make you comfortable, and Stephanos at the pool bar is a great guy who makes everyone feel welcome! It's a relaxing hotel, on a lovely island with plenty of Greek hospitality.

The hotel is quiet, clean and tidy. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms was of a good size with table and chairs on the balcony.
The pool was a good place to sunbathe. The pool bar served good food and was not expensive compared to other restaurants. The breakfast served in the morning was simple and ran from 730 - 930am.
There are lots of restaurants, shops and bars to go to and start from about 10 minutes walk away. The beach is further away and is around 40 minutes away.

My partner and I have just returned from an enjoyable weeks stay at Hotel Petros. Although the hotel was nice, I was expecting rather more having read the previous reviews. A lot of comments have been made about the hard beds and, yes, we did get 2 very flat pillows, but after asking the friendly reception staff, they provided us with more pillows which solved the problem.
Our room was very small, with nowhere to put things and we found this quite claustrophobic. I wouldn’t say the hotel was spotless as someone has mentioned, yes the maid emptied our bin, changed the towels a couple of times during our stay and threw a sheet over the bed but that was the extent of the cleaning.
We had a pool view, but unfortunately, it was the pool at the next door Park Hotel which looked nicer than the pool area at the Hotel Petros. Although the pool was nice with lots of free sun loungers, we never saw this being cleaned once during our stay.
We paid extra for use of the fridge in our room (a total rip off since it is switched on regardless of whether you pay extra for it or not), only to find it was mouldy inside. There were small TVs in every room and a large TV in reception and behind the bar area although none of these had English channels so unless you are fluent in Greek then I did not see the point in having these.
I have travelled to Greece for the past 20 years and although you expect the breakfasts to be basic, I did find the breakfast here very basic. There was no variation at all during our stay, the orange juice is diluted squash and there wasn’t even a toaster, instead we were provided by pre-done toast which was very hard and cold, the breakfast lady was very grumpy also, a smile would have been nice.
The beach is about a 20 min walk away, quite a trek in the hot sun, but worth it. The beach was lovely, clean and stretched for miles. Be aware of the jewellery, CD/DVD man, sunglasses man, fresh fruit salad man and particularly the Chinese ladies trying to sell massages. They were an absolute nuisance and will pester you constantly throughout the day.
The resort is about a 10 min walk away and really nice. We found it bustling with lots of good bars and restaurants. We particularly liked Zorbas, The Olive Tree and the Mexican, Piero’s.
I hope this review doesn’t sound too negative, I have stayed in much worse places than the Hotel Petros, but then again have stayed in much better. I would return to the resort but probably check out a different hotel/apartments.
