Great value for money

My husband and I went to the Mediterranee Hotel at the begining of June 2011, we had a great time the people in the hotel are very friendly. The location is fantastic its on the main strip and just opposite the hotel there's a road the leads down to the beach about 200 maybe 300 metres not far away.
We enjoyed it so much we will be going back next year thats for sure.

  • Advice: The bar area is great, it's lovely to start your night out with on ice cold beer.
  • Good For: Beach
  • Board Basis:Breakfast Included

Great Hotel at a budget Price

We booked this hotel as it was the cheapest in the Thomas Cook brochure for Tsilvi and read the reviews on the net. These ranged hugely from "terrible" to people who had been there 13 years in a row. Based on the latter and my high tolerance for dodgy accomodation......(I camp a lot so used to roughing it).
What a pleasant surprise when we arrived. We were in one of the older blocks but found the room to be basic but in very good condition. The rooms and indeed the whole hotel were spotlessly clean. I can't say how often the bedlinen and towels were changed since this isn't important to me but I'd say it was every second day for the towels. Air conditioning is free and this was important when we were there.
In line with Greek custom there is no shower curtain as they believ they harbour germs but the bathrooms are "wet rooms" so providing you remember to move the toilet roll you will have no problem. I tended to shower around 5.00 6.00 Pm and always had hot water but once later it was cooler but still acceptable.
You do get charged 5 Euros per day if you want a fridge but we didn't. There's two supermarkets within 100 yards selling cold drinks and beer at good prices so we just kept popping there when we needed something cool.
Snacks at the pool bar were very good value with a Gyros at 2 Euros being the perfect snack. The restaurant is also worth a try and "Granpa's Beef" was excellent.
We found there to be pleanty sun loungers and a good choice of sunny or shady areas to suit your needs. The pool was clean apart from the odd dead insect but there is no really shallow area for kids but most parents with children were coping with this.
Breakfast is a mix of breads, cake type bread, toast, ham, boiled eggs, eggs baked in a oven and peaches and yogurt. More than enough selection for mebut if you hanker after your bacon egg and sausage you can buy that either in the hotel or nearby restaurants for about 4E.
The staff don't fawn all over you but are initially pleasant and helpful and after a day or two a smile and a nod soon gets them talking to you. The staff at the pool bar are great, speak great english and after a couple of days were very friendly and helpful.
I don't know if the hotel has had a facelift since some of the bad comments I read elswhere but I certainly coudn't fault it and would recommend it to anyone and would stay there again without hesitation

  • Advice: This is a basic hotel with good facilities and in a great location.

We have just returned from 1 weeks half board holiday at the Mediterranee Hotel in Tsilivi. The overall holiday was very good. Rooms were basic but clean. The restaurant food was very very good. Sometimes the service was slow but as the waiters got to know us over the week it seemed to speed up. The breakfast was vey bland and the same every day. I would recommend the hotel with helpful if sometimes slow staff. I would also recommend self catering as there is a wide range of places to eat and many friendly bars within walking distance of the hotel. We took 2 trips during the week and would recommend both. The boat trip around the island was amazing and well worth 18 euros. We also went to Olympia for the people who like site seeing and history was again money well spent. We booked our trips with the people next to the hotel they seemed to be the cheapest of all.

  • Advice: nice wather, friendly people, close to the beach
  • Activities: hotel food was very good, but plenty of choices of places to eat
  • Good For: Beach

Have just recently come back from a ten day stay at the Mediteraenee Hotel and I was pleasantly surprised. After booking, I was slightly worried as I read some very mixed reviews on this hotel. Many people have commented on unhelpful/unfriendly staff - myself and my partner found them to be nothing but helpful....maybe it's the way you speak to people sometimes?? Staff were always willing to help you out and were very approachable. Rooms were pretty basic, but then my experience of Greece is that this is pretty normal. Rooms and hotel itself were spotlessly clean, and clean bedding and towels were given 2-3 times a week (better than I have had in some places!). Bar by the pool is fab, great selection of drinks and snacks. Can't comment on restaurant as we did not eat there. Our room was not in the main block of the hotel, but set back in the grounds, which on reflection was a good thing as I think some of the rooms in the main block could have been quite noisy at night with traffic noise etc. Overall I thoroughtly enjoyed our stay here and there is one HUGE bonus to staying here....free air conditioning which was great and meant we had extra spending money. Breakfast wasn't brilliant, just basic continental. We made do with that a few times, but food is so cheap here that it doesn't cost a lot to have breakfast out a couple of times for a change. If we do come back to beautiful Tsilivi (and it is gorgeous) we would saty here again. I think some people complain for the sake of it soemtimes!!!

Recently returned from this hotel where myself and my partner satyed for 2 weeks. Hotel was very nice and clean but basic. Towels changed every other day and bedding 3 times in the 2 weeks. Only gripe was the shower could be very hit and miss dependant on time of day.
Breakfast was just the basic continental but was sufficent for our needs. We never had a problem getting sunbeds no need to get up at crack of dawn. The pool bar sells very good food at reasonable prices and very quick service.
The resort of Tsilivi is great a bar you must visit is Level Bar about 200 yards down the road on the same side as the hotel, all cocktails there cheapest in resort at 3 euros each. The staff in the bar are just amazing.
A good food place to eat is Benikos & Sweet Revenge, these are situated at the bottom end of the resort but only about 10 min walk maximum.
If you decide to do any trips on the Island i 100% recommend Nefeli Travel this again is the bottom of resort but the trips are top quality and worth every penny, they are considerably cheaper than all the others we checked out. We did the V.I.P island tour with Jackie Boots and it was fantastic.
All in all the resort & hotel were fantastic, we will definatly be returning soon.

Just returned from 11 days at the Mediteranne Hotel in Tsilivi. I've given the hotel a rating of 5 and that is for the location and facilities at the hotel. I would give the staff and the accommodation 1/10. The staff were unprofessional, disinterested and not particularly helpful. I had to wait 5 mins to speak to the hotel receptionist while she finished a private telephone call on her mobile phone. The cleaners were incredibly noisy especially at 6:30 am. As for the accommodation - it did not deserve a 4 star rating. The location of the hotel was great - 5 mins from the beach and a nice 10 min walk to the main part of Tsilivi. Overall we really enjoyed our holiday and would recommend Tsilivi to anyone. The people are very friendly the food is good and the boat trip round the island is really good value. Catch the bus into Zante town - on average it's about 15 mins late, but a tip rather than catching the bus outside the hotel, turn left when you leave the hotel and go to the next stop or even the one before and catch the bus there - you've got more chance of getting on. The very best restaurants to eat in Tsilivi are Fiorentio's and Benikos both serve excellent food, very good value and we were given half a litre of wine on the house at Benikos as we said we'd had the restaurant recommended. I can't recommend either restaurant more highly. As for the best cocktail bar in town the Corner Bar opposite the Hotel just the right distance to crawl into bed!!!!

My wife and I came here in 2005 for the first time and we both had a fantastic holiday.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Hotel very clean and presentable, although we did have concerns over the lock on our room door. We did however ask for this to be rectified and it was without any fuss.
Pool was great and very clean. Local tavernas and bars were also very welcoming.
Fantastic array of shops and what a brilliant beach!
We enjoyed ourselves so much that we are returning this September for another week’s holiday.

Me and my boyfriend stayed at the Mediteranee in June 2005 and had a great time.
The room was great and so was pool. Breakfast was okay, we had breakfast out sometimes because it was so cheap.
The resort of Tislivi is really nice not built up but still quite lively. The best restaurants are Giorgios and Popeyes and also Manos Grill which was extremely popular.
The best bar we found was Reportage but be warned, there are a lot of young kids that go around bars selling roses and hats that get really annoying after a while, because sometimes they don't take no for a answer and sometimes became a bit aggressive!
Beach was really nice. We did a trip to Smugglers Cove which was amazing but we weren't allowed on beach because sea was too choppy.
Had a great hol would go back but the only thing that really puts me off, is the airport, its absolutely horrible - so tiny. Thank god we weren't delayed going back because there are only about twenty seats!
But its only a small problem so you cant complain really.

We had a lovely holiday in Tsilivi and thought the hotel was great. We requested a high floor which we got but we weren’t overlooking the pool, we were in apartments behind those overlooking the pool which meant we could see the sea and surrounding area and we were away from the noise of the road.
Our linen and towels were changed regularly and the maids are so friendly! Breakfast gets a bit monotonous after two weeks because its basic but you can get a full English from any restaurant very cheap! The location is ideal.
You’re a short walk from the beach which is beautiful and all the shops and tavernas are nearby. Overall a fab holiday. Hope this helps all those still to have their summer holiday. We weren’t disappointed, so have a fab time! :>
