Fenix Hotel

I did book double room for three days but I got a some sort of suite insted. I had separate bedroom and dining room and a massive bed. Everything for 80 euros per night including breakfast. Hotel was quite basic one. No expectations before and I was not dissapointed. Room had Pt-Wifi internet, those you can find almost every street corner in Porto and in Lisbon. We usually go to Porto about 3-4 times each year, and everytime we go, we always stay at Fenix Porto. Why? Because we always find nice rates for weekend (not over 60 euros/night) and the hotel is always ok... Room is very big, with all the amenities we want (tv, good bath, very clean... ). Breakfast is terrific, and it's included in the price. I have to say that the cakes are really portuguese, so you feel that you are in Portugal and not at home, which I like a lot!! Just returned from a 3 night stay at the Fenix Porto Hotel in Porto. The hotel is spotlessly clean , the bedroom big enough and views good until you look down.The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast ok. The 'free entry to the Health Club' would be better if it was at the hotel instead of a long walk (or short taxi ride) to another hotel in the group. Although we enjoyed our stay in Porto, we didn't have one good meal. Each restaurant we tried served the same food and was only served with chips and rice. Donot bother... more

I stayed here on march 2005. The hotel is on the neighbourhood plenty of hotels (Boavista) and it is very easy to reach from the highway. It is near the subway and tons of taxis (incredibly cheaps) are on the surroundings so you don't need to take your car to the downtown. We stayed at the Fenix Porto for 3 nights. It is a bit 1970s - the room was rather bland and beige and the art nouveau in the restaurant truly ghastly - only frequented at breakfast. Generally comfortable though and the staff were friendly and helpful. On the last night, I left my camera in a restaurant and only discovered it the morning of the day we left.
