Express By Holiday Inn Oxford Kassam Stadium Hotel reviews

Rooms clean but basic. Breakfast included which helped and offers all you would need really - a few hot choices, toast, cereal, fruit. The reviews that say there is nowhere to eat are not true. There is a vue complex down the road with frankly & bennys and other eating... more

It does exactly what it says on the tin!
Another HI Express that I have stayed in recently. Efficient & well equipped, the rooms and bathrooms are very clean and not in the least "worn". Situated on the edge of Oxford, in a commercial/entertainment zone. Don't book here if you don't have a car. Speaking of cars, I'm told that they've had a load of thefts from cars here - they currently employ a security guard to patrol the car park. Breakfast rubbish, but you get that in all HI Expresses!
Management response from Cmason

Dear Guest I was very concerned about your comments about the carpark safety. I have been working at the hotel for three years and during this time we have never had anything stolen from a car or had any cars stolen. I have double checked this with the police to ensure this statement is correct Thank you for your comments. Chris Mason

Great for overnight stays if you have a car
This is a modern hotel that is very clean and comfortable. As with other Holiday Inn Express lodges I have stayed in they offer a basic meals service - i.e. continental breakfast in the morning (only hot food is toast) and a selection of take-away menus. Overall, I had a very comfortable stay in the hotel and it was represented in the price. For some strange reason, the bar only sells Carlsberg lager on draught - nothing else. Plenty of bar taps, but no selection. I presume is suits them rather than the customer. It is also... more
Great Hotel, check location though
Stayed here 1 night on business and would definitely stay again. Paid GPB89 including a standard continental breakfast. Hotel is modern clean and comfortable. Has wi-fi but i did not use it. Beds are comfortable, bathrooms bright and clean. It is located right next to the oxford kassam football stadium which was great for me as i was attending a conference there. It is a little out of the city centre though, so bear that in mind. The taxi fare from the train station is just under a tenner. Has a small bar which was open until midnight the... more
Could not fault this hotel
My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel one weekend in September and we found the service very good. The staff were all very friendly and efficient and we managed to check in at about 12:15 when check in was not until 3pm. The room was very clean and modern, with enough extra towels and pillows for our ease. It is also had a Dove soap dispenser by the sink and a Lux shampoo and shower gel one in the shower, so do not worry about bringing shower gel! The bed was very comfortable and the shower worked brilliantly. The continental breakfast in... more
says what it does on the tin
Paid £52 for us and our two daughters for bank hol weekend and this was excellent value, Very clean, not as basic as Travelodge, shower worked well. Not alot of room for the four of us but we were all comfortable. Used park and ride to go into city and went to cinema next to hotel in evening. Breakfast was unexpectedly good quality considering it was inc, in price. Only drawback was that it did not have air con which the same hotel in Bath had where we stayed the following night. This chain really is excellent value for money and can be... more
Basic, but clean and convenient!
Some friends and I paid £65 at the last minute, for a triple (family) room - our expectations weren't high but we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is easy to find from the A34 and M4 (you just follow the football signs to Kassam Stadium), there's free parking, we had no problems checking in, the room was clean and was a decent size. The bathroom was spotless and modern, with a good shower. Taxis into town cost around £10 and the hotel will call them for you. There were only 2 slight downsides: breakfast, which consisted of tasteless... more
Larger than average Holiday Inn Express
Larger than average Holiday Inn Express right next to the Kasam Stadium on the outskirts of Oxford. Rooms were clean and modern, so no complaints. As with many Holiday Inn Express hotels, they do not serve food in evenings, though it does have a bar. Not a huge choice of places to eat nearby, so I would recommend staying somewhere more central, especially if you are a tourist.
Clean, simple and cheap, good little hotel
Stayed at this hotel over Silverstone weekend in July. Literally next door to the football stadium, you can see the pitch from the room. Hotel was simple but clean and well presented. Definite IKEA feel to the rooms and furnishings. Beds are a bit soft but I'm told are replaced frequently. Car park is good and there are lots of spaces. Room was smallish and had a double bed, sofa that pulls out makes another if needed. Bathroom was small but clean and shower worked well. Toilet door and main door are the same door, hard to explain but... more
Clean and New!
We needed a place to stay in Oxford for one night and simply wanted a clean hotel. This suited us quite nicely. Note* - there are two Holiday Inn's in Oxford on either side of the city and both are next to football stadiums. The Expess by Holiday Inn is located on the outskirts of the city (literally, there are green pastures and nothing else, but homes). There is a bus stop 10 minutes walking distance away that can take you into the city (line 1 and 5). Ask the front desk attendant to draw you a map. The room was spotless and the bed... more
