September 2007 - Second year at this resort but first stay at Muses. Found our double room at Muses to be a spotlessly clean and spacious accommodation in good position for views. The Hotel had a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere throughout, with friendly and helpful staff. On a B&B basis we enjoyed great breakfast's with a good variety of fruit, breads, cakes, yoghurt and jams etc. plus hot food if you wanted it - all included in the price.
The on-site restaurant is to be recommended - it offers splendid meals with something for everyone at good prices. It's full every night of the week and although sometimes you may have a wait a while for your freshly cooked meal to arrive, it's well worth the wait!
The bar area was clean and inviting with comfortable seating.
The location of the Muses Hotel is just right - a short stroll to the main beach (quieter beaches slightly further away), a small supermarket and other bars all nearby.
Bus stops are nearby - the bus service is very reliable taking you on a scenic route into the main town of Skiathos with stops (all numbered so you don't get lost!) along the way.
All in all a great place to spend your hols. - can't think of anything bad to say about it because there isn't anything!!

This hotel was very good.
The rooms are clean and quite basic but of good size. The balcony was spacious and overlooked pretty gardens. A very peaceful setting.
Breakfast was buffet style and mainly consisted of bread, jams, honey and yoghurt with muesli, boiled eggs, ham and cheese. Pretty much the norm I've been told!
This was served in the main hotel building separate from the rooms which are set out like bungalows.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday, it was relaxed and peaceful (May.)
We did have to pay 3euros a day for a small fridge!

Having stayed in several average quality rooms in Greece, we were pleased to find that the Muses hotel in Koukounaries is a definite cut above. The rooms are situated 5 to a block (9 blocks - one for each Muse) and we had the good fortune of getting a room with a huge balcony great for our large family get-togethers.
The staff and facilities are excellent, the shower had a curtain (if that sort of thing really makes your holiday) and the breakfast was plentiful and pleasant.
Koukounaries is a nice little resort with a fantastic beach. There are only a few bars/restaurants but the town of Skiathos is not far away.
I recommend Agustera bar, just up the road from Muses next to the supermarket, where the lovely Georgia will make you any cocktail you like.
Overall, an excellent holiday in Skiathos.
