Good hotel, shame about the customer service
This was my first visit to Santorini for a friends wedding. The hotel was beautiful but situated up a steep hill, which was hard going on the legs! I booked a junior suite without door jacuzzi. Upon arrival we were taken to our room which was fantastic - very large with two double beds, two bathrooms, an indoor jacuzzi and large terrace area. Unfortunately the air conditioning did not work, a light in the bathroom was broken and no lighting outside to sit on the terrace. The air conditioning was fixed the following day when we were... more
A lovely hotel in a great location
This is a lovely little hotel. I have noted some good and not so good points below to help you decide! Good Location - Near to the town but peaceful. Staff are excellent very friendly and brilliant maid service everyday Pool area is nice, well maintained and pool towels are avaiable to borrow. Breakfast is pleasant with a resonable choice for 4* hotel. Rooms are well mainted with plenty of shorage, a safe and a good shower and bath. Aircon and safe in room were free. Not so good Some rooms... more
Very friendly hotel
Stayed for two weeks in the Antinea Hotel. We arrived too late for eveining meal, but when we got to our room (which had a four poster bed!!) and no we were not on honeymoon, in fact we have been married 28years!! Where a meal for two with had been left for us including a bottle of white wine and a bottle of water in the fridge! Much apprecialted i can tell you having travelled from Sheffield, England. The hotel is, as the tour operator put it, situated on a 'steep incline' therefore not suitable for anyone with mobility dificulties.... more
Hotel Antinea (Anthinea), Kamari. A great place to stay.
A first we thought this was just an average hotel, however, with good views, very good food and excellent staff we soon changed our view. The rooms seemed quite basic but they were cleaned every day with linen and towels changed every other day, by very nice maids. The beds were firm but very comfortable, we have never slept so well on holiday. The locations of the bar and dining areas, both on different levels, meant a very pleasant outlook over the Med' when eating. The clean pool was nicely located with plenty of... more
Great Hotel
This was our first holiday in Santorini and we booked the Antinea Hotel, flights and transfers on the net. We arrived in the evening and the room we were initially allocated wasn’t to our liking, as it had a small terrace and a limited sea view when we had requested a balcony. However, we were moved to a beautiful room that more than met all our requirements first thing on the second day. The view from the large balcony was terrific. All the hotel staff were friendly and courteous. Everywhere was clean and sheets and towels were... more
Perfect
First class hotel a few hundred yards up hill from town centre. Well presented very large rooms which were always very clean. Excellent service from all staff in hotel. Loved Santorini and Kamari was a very good base with a wide range of restaurants.
Beware: Classic tourist trap
Most of the time we had no water in our room (hot or cold!). Clogged toilet. Intermittently operating A/C. Rude customer service. To top it all off - the hotel charged our credit card double the booking rate (298 euros per night as opposed to agreed upon 149 euros). Had to spend an hour contacting the bank to block payment. Save yourselves the heartbreak - stay away!
amazing Antinea
Visited the Antinea 2002 ...tried desperatly to get back in again for this year but they seemed to have changed the accomodation..couldnt fit my family of four !!! Had the most amazing stay there ..studio was more than large enough for my busy little family, wonderful balcony with view over the bay. Staff were the friendliest around, especially the wonderful porter who managed to negotiate all those steps with our very heavy luggage..then wouldnt accept a tip. Choice of two pools ...upper pool area was nice and breezy for when the sun... more
Love it - been twice now
Going back for the third time this year to the same Hotel. Suites are a better bet than studio's which are on the small side. Suites have a good size balcony and great views over the town. Perched on the side of the hill the Hotel has a good location and there's always a cooling breeze and two pools to choose from. The Hotel never feels crowded even when full. The food is very good and the staff are great. Very close to the sea front area where life is busier. I'd recommend it for anyone looking for a relatively quiet and very pleasant... more
Smashing holiday
A lovely hotel with beautiful views across the bay and up the mountain. We had a very good room with a big square balcony. The staff were very helpful and all the decor was good. It was the first week of the season so there weren't many people there and only one of the pools was filled but the bar was open all day! There was a short walk to the shops and beach with numerous bars and tavernas catering for all tastes. An excellent holiday.
