Blunsdon House Hotel

This is one of Best Western's Premier (i.e. top-end) hotels. I stayed twice in December.
Rooms are very clean - I was there close to Christmas and each time my room had its own fibre optic Christmas tree and other decorations - a really nice touch, characteristic of the friendly nature of the hotel's staff.
My rooms were very clean, good size bathrooms with bath sheet towels. The 'executive' rooms are in a separate (newer) block from the main hotel which is a bit of a hassle if it's raining. There is a beauty salon in this block but I didn't get a chance to use it. However, I had forgotten to take moisturiser so they gave me a mini tube of Dermalogica which again is characteristic of the good service.
The hotel has a good gym and a pool, ideal for using up a bit of energy and then relaxing.
There are two restaurants, I went to the carvery which offers three courses (pretty much unlimited food, I think) for £17. There was plenty of meat, and a good selection of vegetables as well as vegetarian choices and some foreign foods. The cheese plate was particularly good.
There is a big car park, and a nine-hole golf course. I didn't play on the course but did go out in the morning to walk the Woodland Walk around the golf course on a very frosty morning and took some fantastic photos. There is also a children's outdoor play area but I haven't tried it!
A good hotel, I'd stay again.
