Swindon Marriott Hotel

Stayed here two nights with my husband as a base for the red bull air races (subsequently cancelled). My first piece of advice is not to go anywhere near Swindon without a very detailed map. It's not that the hotel is difficult to find, more like everything in Swindon is difficult to find! I have never been so glad to see the reassuring glow of a Marriott sign. I stayed a week in the marriott having read the very good reviews posted on trip advisor. The only flaw of the marriott is the lack of porters. The reception desk have to do everything. Otherwise, it was a great stay with my wife and two kids (in an interconnecting room). The rooms are large and the beds are extremely comfortable (de vere can't compare). This is/was my favourite hotel, I previously left a glowing report "Well done Swindon Marriott" I recently stayed, booked my usual suite asked for a bottle of wine to be chilling in the room around 7.00pm and to make sure I had a bath robe as last time I didn't get one. On check in (very pleasant staff) I was assured all was as requested. But it wasn't, took 2 calls just for the wine and never got the bath robe. The suite would normally be described as stunning. had a family gathering and a wonderful weekend was had by all. the rooms were clean and comfy, staff helpful. hotel has a lovely swimming pool, steam room, sauna and gym. tennis when weather good! best of all was the fab buffet breakfast. could not fault the service.

We stayed at the Marriot as a last minute booking for a night out in Swindon. It has to be one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The rooms are a good size and ours was immaculate. Very comfortable bed (which I didnt want to get out of!), mini bar and even a safe to put my laptop in. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to the Swindon area!

I stayed at this hotel on two occaisions in 2004. whilst both stays were extremely pleasant and the rooms and food were great, I was less than impressed with the bar and the clientelle. As a woman travelling alone on business I did not appreciate being harassed by the hoardes of male business guests. The hotel location is a bit out of the way limiting alternative options for eating/drinking. Mind you, who would want to stay in Swindon town centre anyway?

Stayed at this hotel to and from a holiday in Devon and was on a Dinner, B&B rate which was excellent value for money. Our party included two 2 year old boys, one of which had a broken leg so obviously we were not going to be the easiest customers to accommodate. We stayed overnight on our way to Wales, it is a great hotel, nice room good food, there was a buffet meal on the night we stayed, we ate a la carte, they gave us £24 allowance, we had a good meal for very little extra. Very close to a fab outlet mall, so we will be going back in December, staying for the weekend so we can shop till we drop, and then chill out the next day.

I cannot rate this hotel highly enough. I travel alot on business, and so after a while hotels can become pretty tiresome....but not this one. From the moment I check-in until I depart, my expectations are always exceeded. They remember the paper i like to read, and even what I like to have for breakfast.....this hotel really takes time out to get to know you. The restaurant is great.
