A fantastic choice at any price!
WE LOVED IT. Great hotel, super staff, nice views of Porto, good location, spacious room... I will be back for sure!
Central and good hotel
Me and my wife stayed in this hotel one night in our last vacations. It is a central hotel, with about thirty years but with a actual decoration. It has spacious, comfortable, clean bedrooms with good views and a nice toillet. Good relation quality price. We did not try the breakfast.
A good choice if the price is right
Myself, my wife and 14 year old son stayed for five nights recently availing of a 'hot deal' offer from the Accorhotels.com website. The cost of the stay was under €300 which, for a hotel of this class (4*) is very good value. The hotel itself is clean, quite & comfortable and is in a very central location for access to the tourist areas. The rooms are of a fair size. We didn't take breakfast at the hotel but did have one dinner which was of an acceptable standard. However, service was on the slow side. Some of the roads in the... more
Overall a good hotel
We stayed two nights in this hotel and we enjoyed our stay. The hotel is centrally located and easy to find. From the airport you need to buy a 4 zone ticket to get from the hotel to the nearest metro stop Bolhão. The hotel is a five minute walk from here down Santa Caterina, the main shopping street in the city. The hotel itself was very nice. The staff were efficient, if not especially friendly. The décor in the public areas and the room was modern but not too bland. The room and the bathroom were spacious and both were... more
Good, but beware internet charges
Good overall location and room but was surprised at charges for wireless internet charges - 20 euro for 24 hours or 5 euro for 1 hour . These charges for an international hotel are very surprising in comparison with other similar hotels elsewhere where wireless internet access is free.
A nice place to visit Porto's downtown
We late booked through hrs.de at €110 for a double-standard room wich is a reasonable price, for what was left available in the city. Parking was full, and altough we asked for a parking place in advance we had to leave our car in an independent garage 50m away. We were assigned a standard-double that was a large room with nice views but two beds. Being in kind of a romantic getaway, we traded it for a single-room that was a bit (except for the bathroom) and had no significant views. But it had a single large bed that was nicer... more
Loved the Hotel Batalha
The hotel has an excellent position on a major square in the centre of the old town within easy walking distance of everything. It has recently been restored in tasteful modern style on a theatrical theme with a nod to the national theatre next door. This is a real 4* hotel luxurious and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and we were delighted with our stay.
Modern Porto
We stayed 2 nights on a deal via airmiles. We flew from Liverpool with Ryanair, 1p out £6 return.Porto airport has a new terminal still being finished off but it was fantastic. We stayed on the 5th floor which we later discovered was not non-smoking but there was no smell of smoke. The 4th floor is the non-smoking one. The room was very modern in brown leather and the staff were top class. There is a smell of smoke in the lobby from the bar area. Very limited parking but they do offer paid parking at a special fee just around the corner.My... more
great hotel
Really nice hotel at a great price, and in an excellent location. The rooms were of a good size and were clean and well furnished.
Very nice room and staff
I had booked Mercure Porto Batalha through Accor website and everything ran well. I got a very nice room, surprisingly big for what I was expecting from a hotel in Europe. The staff was very considerate for me and my wife, offering us a treat, as we traveled on a second honeymoon. The hotel is quite central and very close to the principal zone of commerce. I would recommend people to stay there when visiting Porto.
