Never Again
I have stayed at the Commodore Hotel on a number of occasions (about 6 years was my previous), and was surprised to read some of the negative reports. My recollection is of a well situated hotel offering high standard rooms backed by excellent service and good food. Alarm bells started to ring from the moment I arrived – the frontage was shabby and the reception area was thread bear. I can only describe the room as disgusting; apart from being totally ramshackle, there was mould around the window, stains on the walls and gunge in the... more

We would like to publicly apologise to this client for his less than satisfacory stay et The Commodore Hotel, we have also contacted him personally to apologise and explain the exact position. The hotel is in fact about to undergo a refurbishment programme encompassing public ares and bedrooms where necessary, the staff have now been made aware fo this at the time of this stay they were unaware. The hotel does in fact have a 3 star AA rating and is about to be inspected again by the AA and we are totally confident that we will see an increase in the percentage rating to at least 75%. We are utterly confident that all guests will now enjoy a comfortable and enjoyable stay enjoying excellent meals from a brand new menu with something for everyone at prices to match.

terrible
It is unusual for me to bother to write a review but for this hotel, I make an exception!!. I write it to make others aware about the state of the room and the service. Granted I can only give my opinion on the room we had but if I had been warned first, I certainley would not have booked. Our room was in the annex. It was shabby with peeling wallpaper. The en suite consisted of a shower cubicle opening directly into the bedroom. The plastic wash basin was in the room and looked like a poor version of a late 70s B & B. There were... more

We apologise unconditionally to this guest for thr condition of the bedroom in the annex , we have waited until now to post this review in order to be able to give some factual information regarding the Commodore Hotel. The good news is that we are now starting a refurbishment programme specifically targetting the upgrading of 2 of the 4 annex bedrooms, the other 2 have already been done and are in fact very nicc large rooms ideal for disabled guests. We have also now brought in new menus into the Carvery and carried out staff training on the waiting staff where necessary, we are confident taht should this guest return they will notice a massive difference, but this does not obviate for their past poor stay for which we again apologise

The Best In Town
This is a pretty neat hotel, it's cheap but great value for money. Everything's pretty much basic, but a very nice place to stay with fantastic views over the Atlantic Ocean looking towards the South East coast of Wales.
The most horrible hotel ever...
Right, I dont understand why some people think its such a great hotel, but I think its a horrible hotel. The rooms are really old and outdated, bed is very uncomfortable (I got a sore back the following day), toilet / bathroom needs upgrading (I cant believe they still use shower curtains). For 90 quid, you would have expected something better. We only booked this hotel because we didnt have any other choice, but I am definitely not going to return to this hotel.
Comfortable, friends and good value
Just enjoyed a one night stay at this small well located Hotel. Our sea view room was spacious, bright, clean and complete with all the little extra's we have come to expect from larger hotels at home and abroad. Chocs on the bed were most welcome! Staff welcoming and friendly. Value for money - yes at £27.50 B/B plus a delicious carvery meal for £4 each. A refreshing change from the bigger branded hotels. We were recommended and came away suitably impressed. An above average hotel of its kind.
Great customer service
I recently stayed here with my 8 month-old daughter and my 80-yr old nana. The hotel staff were extremely friendly, and went out of their way to accomodate our needs. The service was good, and the food was very reasonable with 2-4-1 on the main meals in the restaurant. The view from my Nana's room was a coastal one, and she really enjoyed the experience. I was a bit concerned after reading some negative comments but I really cannot find a bad thing to say as we were so well looked after.
Uuuugghhhhh.....never again!!!
The hotel is simply tired...stuck in the 1970's...the bedrooms have not seen a lick of paint or change of furniture since then!! Although this seems on a par for most of Weston-Super-Mare... The breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly...Its just the feel of the place is dirty and old...(the restaurant area is the best bit) The place is in desperate need of a freshen up and updating. If they could manage an upgrade for the poor old building and contents the location is brilliant... I was stuck here for 2 nights on a work... more
Pleasantly surprised
After reading the reviews on this site I almost cancelled my holiday. What a mistake that would have been. The service and attention from the Staff equalled any I have experienced from top and much more expensive Hotels both here and abroad. The food was excellent, freshly cooked and well presented. OK the bedrooms were looking a little tired but they were clean and the facilities excellent. They are gradually doing up all the rooms. We will definately be going again. Really good value.
Oh Boy!
Never again. What a place, although staff, on the whole pretty good, everything here was dated. The rooms, yeap I tried two, both were pretty awful, don’t do it, just don’t even think about staying here. Food plain boring mass produced, horrid.
Popular with Senior Citizens
This hotel seems to have more than a whiff of the 1970's boarding house to it, in it's decor, smell (old people and gravy) and clientel. The rooms are clean, the beds slightly lumpy and the showers a little lacking in power but the staff are friendly and the breakfast was excellent. When visiting the area you have to visit the cafe built into the cliff about a hlaf mile from the hotel, through Weston Woods and on the edge of Weston itself. It has amazing views over Sand Bay, seven terraces and lovely English tea style food.
