I booked my room over the internet and got an extremely reasonable price. We paid just £150 between 3 of us for 4 nights for a triple en suite room with breakfast thrown in. Though I must admit that we never actually made it to breakfast so I can't comment on whether it was any good!
The room was ok, if a little cramped with three single beds in. The wardrobe was difficult to get to and only had 3 coat hangers in it! But the room and bathroom were both clean, if a little basic (but what do you expect for just over £16 a night per person?!). The hotel itself is well maintained and has obviously had a recent face lift to the outside, though the rooms are a little shabby if I'm honest and the view was less than appealing, opening out onto roof terraces.
The staff were courteous and helpful at all times and spoke good English.
The location is excellent being just 5-10 minutes from Avenida dos Aliados, the train station etc etc.
All in all, I would definitely recommend this as an inexpensive place to stay in Oporto, though I suspect the more expensive hotels which are even more central and nicer, are probably not much more expensive at all and it's definitely worth shopping around online to get a great deal.
