Royal Myconian Hotel & Spa

We stayed at this resort in July 2007 based on a recommendation. We really liked it because it gave us a chance to relax after all of the touring in Athens. Location/Transportation: They pick you up at the airport via shuttle bus and take you to the hotel, which is on top of a hill. It was a steep walk down (we used the stairs) to Elia Beach and a shuttle bus brought you back up after 2pm about every 5 minutes- we walked up a couple of times and we were winded! so if we could, we took the shuttle. This may be the nicest hotel on the island. It is a ways out of town (not as the crow flies but as the roads go) but this is a plus, in my opinion. The town is a trap for the cruise boats and fills with tourists nightly. The stores mostly feature crappy souveniers like t-shirts and coffee mugs. There is lots of greek food, but little in the way of authentic culture. The hotel is free of all this. The views are amazing from everywhere. The thalasso pools were overrated. We stayed at this hotel from June 16 to 18th, as part of an 8 day trip to the Greek Isles. This was our favourite part of the trip!! The site was very beautiful and the facilities were luxurious. We arrived at the resort after 30 hours of travelling (from home to airport, then waiting for the ferry to Mykonos) and the staff were very pampering, getting us to our room smoothly and quickly so we could shower and get to bed. Beautiful property! The views from the room are spectacular, the hotel staff are very helpful; however, it's very far (30 minute cab ride) to Mykonos Town. If you're going to Mykonos for the nightlife then I wouldn't recommend this hotel, but if you're going to relax and do nothing but sit by the pool (or beach) all day then this is your hotel! The hotel was very nice with gorgeous views. Ask for a room near the top of the place because the view is better and it is more private. The staff was accomodating and friendly. The hotel will pick you up for free at the port and offers a shuttle service to the town (about 20 min ride). The shuttle service goes to the town often, but does not return enough so you may have to take a cab. There is a nice pool and jacuzzi inside (although the jacuzzi wasn't warm inside). I just came back from my honeymoon 3 weeks ago and the hotel was amazing. It is in a beautiful location, sitting on the edge of a mountain, and the views are wonderful. I found the hotel rooms to be very clean, with huge balconies. The pool was very nice and so was the hot tub except for the fact they are salt water, and you get a film all over you body everytime you go in. The hotel was fantastic. Hotel is very romantic great for honeymooners but still great if you are going with friends. All the employees were very helpful and gracious, especially those working around the pool area. The rooms were nice with a spectacular views of Elia Beach. Indoor pool was excellent couldn't judge the outdoor pool because it was a little chilly. This is a fabulous hotel with an extremely friendly staff who speaks english. The hotel is gorgeous and clean. It is 20 minutes away from town, but the hotel makes up for it. There were no every 5 minute shuttles and taxis are a problem in all of mykonos but you get everything in this hotel. The indoor pool area is gorgeous! Elia beach is not very crowded but it is nice, but it is far from paradise beach.

My fiance and I booked this hotel for our Honeymoon after reading many reviews online, esp on tripadvisor. We loved this hotel!!! The property itself is beautiful- right on Elia Beach sort of built into the mountain. Our room was a VIP Double- big and spacious with a King bed, TV, couch and sitting area. As part of our 1 year anniversary vacation, we stayed at Royal Myconian for 3 nights. The staff that greeted us were very friendly and when we were taken to our room, we were mesmerized by the view we got from our little balcony. Yes, the room is not the most spacious, the bed sheets did not feel crisp and the bathroom did feel a little old, but our view made up for everything.
