Great Hotel
I recently spent two weeks with my husband at the Myconian Imperial, which was everything we thought it would be, according to previous reviews. The room was spacious, clean and very well equipped. Towels and bedding were changed dailly, and when we reported the breakage of a glass to reception, there was no problem. The swimming pools were lovely and clean, and there were plenty of sun-beds for everyone. All the staff, without exception, were pleasant and helpful, particularly those on reception. The food at the restaurant was very... more
Great stay at a quiet corner of Mykonos
We stayed at the Myconian Imperial during the busiest period on Mykonos. Overall, we had a most enjoyable stay at the hotel and found it to be of a very high quality. We were apprehensive after reading some previous negative reviews, but those problems turned out to be unfounded during our stay there. 1) Rooms We booked a Deluxe Seaview room, requesting a quiet area of the hotel. The room itself was very big (Room 286), but it was situated quite a way back. We could see the sea from the balcony we had, but we weren’t... more
Should never be member of Leading Hotels
Too many problems to be really a five star "Leading Hotel". Overbooking, personel who isn't professional, bedroom was never made at night, food isn't what it should be, long chairs at the pool falling appart, when asked for something it takes sometimes days before getting it, views are not as shown in brochures and hotelbeach is small and overcrowded. Maybe a good hotel on Greek standards but never on World standards. Sorry, never going back to Greece.
Mykonos Imperial - a fantastic place to stay.
Stayed here for four days. Upon arrival, we were allocated a room which was approached via many steps and then through a long, dark corridor. We complained about the number of steps and were immediately moved to a room on the upper level. We had a spacious room with a stunning view. A huge, comfortable bed and a host of luxury toiletries. We were ten steps away from the upper complex. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The hotel is everything I would expect from a 5 star establishment. The restaurant is worthy of a... more
Weather was nice, hotel not as good as expected
We stayed in the Myconian Imperial Hotel & Thalasso Centre in Elia (Mykonos) in July 2005. The hotel is situated in a town called Elia. Except the hotel and a few houses, a restaurant and 2 nice beaches Elia has nothing more to offer, not even a small mini-market. The hotel is built on a hill and for people with walking problems rather difficult to reach. From the outside the hotel and swimmingpool-area look really nice. Lobby is big and there is a nice bar. Guests can use the internet for free. But as we stayed there it only... more
Great place to go
My partner and I went to Mykonos on May 05. We both had mixed feelings about the island, and its hotels, but they dated back 25 years ago. We regularly travel @ the Leading Hotels of the World, and like them for their comfort and intimacy. Since we did not want to be in the noisy and non-classy Mykonos city, we decided to book the Imperial Mykonian. We really loved the hotel. We booked a junior suite room with a private pool because we wanted some privacy. And all was there. Upon arrival, the staff was very nice and... more
Luxury in the Mediterranean
We stayed here on our honeymoon and were very impressed. Mykonos is a very dry island where the landscape is dominated by small white houses with blue windows. We got a standar double room in the Myconian Imperial and were surprised to find that the room even though not very big had a beautiful view to the Mediterranean. The service in the hotel was excellent, views stunning: people were friendly and very attemptive, the pool was fantastic and the food in the restaurant and bars superb. The hotel is located beside Elia beach, and... more
Mykonos? Not everyone's cup of tea
I have travelled to Greece and the Greek Islands several times but last week in Mykonos did not match my previous Greek visits. Firstly the island is somewhat unattractive, rock in the ocean with few trees and no archeological / historical features of note. The town offers gay bars, and there are nude beaches. It is very windy often. Although there were some tavernas offering good Greek food most had menus more directed to the home tastes of tourists with hamburgers and pasta offered, or club sandwiches. For a location so dependant on... more
Hotel looks good, does not look good when we stayed there
Well how will I start this, it will become a whole story actually. As we have our own company, we only take a week vacation in a whole year. That's why I always choose the maximum luxury available. Last year we spend our honeymoon at the Mykonos Grand. Which was great: our room was upgraded to a suite with a private pool, marvelous views, ... erverything was perfect. For some reason, the Mykonos Grand wasn't in the travel brochure anymore and as we didn't want to lose that much time we were looking for another hotel in Mykonos with the... more
The perfect place to stay on Mykonos
We stayed here on our honeymoon and were very impressed. We booked a room with a private pool but didn't use it at is wasn't heated and we went in September. Also there was no view from the pool rooms and they are on the ground floor. Other than that the room was beautiful, service excellent, views stunning, fantastic pool, restaurant and bar and the Thallasso centre a real treat if a tad expensive. Elia beach is the perfect place to stay, we travelled to Mykonos town on the complimentary hotel bus twice and it was great to come back out to... more
