Swallow Lansdowne Grove Hotel

We spent 2 nights in the Lansdowne Grove for our wedding anniversary. We were certainly impressed by the size of the bedroom and bathroom and the lovely view over the garden which could be seen from a terraced balcony and overall enjoyed a very pleasant stay. However, on the first night there was a wedding on, also located on the second floor, and it was impossible to sleep because of the very loud music which went on to midnight. From the outside this looks a good hotel. The rooms are spacious and there is a great view of the city from the comfortable bedrooms. However, 1. The room's door handle had come loose. When I informed the receptionist about this, she looked at me somewhat perplexed. Anyway, no action was taken. 2. There was a wedding taking place in the banqueting suite. The hotel was great value for money.Only a 10 minute downhill walk into the centre of Bath. Friendly staff,the rooms could be updated a little and it was a nice change to have a large bathroom. I thought the breakfast was good with a lot of choice.

I stayed at this hotel for the weekend the room was lovely, staff very helpful and friendly, the food was quite dodgy contained bits of plastic and I wasn't the only guest to complain about this. This wasn't very good for a 3 AA rosette award winning restaurant, the food was obviously bought in and not freshly made.

Lovely hotel. Room was spacious and clean, bathroom was also nice. Bed was comfortable and it was nice and quiet. It's in a good location for a stroll into town, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was tasty as well! Avoid the room service meals though, not very good value for money.

Great staff, lovely looking building, public areas great! My room.. the broom cupboard. Small, hot (even though the radiator was turned off) over looking a brick wall, with an all access flat roof outside my window, so I couldn't leave it open. Hotel staff have no concept of the single white female staying on her own. Noisy (guess I was above the boiler) and to top it all, when I stupidly left some clothing behind, they sent the stuff back and ask me to pay the postage. No chance mate!!!! I go to Bath once a month for a few days on business.... more

I stayed at this hotel last June just after there refurbishment was completed, the room was in the new part of the building and we could not of asked for better, the staff were always helpful without being intrusive. I would highly recommend the hotel its location is also good, as it is a few minutes walk from all the tourist attractions.

Don't bother with this hotel. It's dirty, shabby, smokey (even though we asked for a non-smoking room) and the breakfast service was not good. Parking is non-existent, they only seem to have space for 5 cars. Try elsewhere!
