Very pleased with Milford
from KristinaLF
My son and I just spent three nights at the Milford Hall Hotel so that we could explore the surrounding areas of Salisbury. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable. It was just a few minutes walk to the center of town, so we were able to leave our car at the hotel. The food in the restaurant was very nicely prepared and served. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and I would stay there again without hesitation.
Functional and Friendly
from BLEAT
I have now stayed at the Millford Hall Hotel two weeks running on business with two other colleagues. We have had the pleasure of staying in the old part, with grand rooms, and the new extension which has standard rooms of the type you find in most hotels. The new rooms have air conditioning which was a bonus in the recent hot weather. The hotel is clean, the food is very good with a varied menu, from Ostrich Steak to baguettes. However the thing that will ensure we go back is the staff, they are all very friendly and can't do enough for...

Tired, shabby and expensive
from jimthetraveller
Stayed here recently for a wedding and I didn't enjoy the hotel. The receptionist was rude and despite us asking for a non-smoking room we were given a room stinking of stale smoke. Back to reception for another room, this one was at least non-smoking but small in size. It was also distinctly shabby and the 15 year old decor and bathroom fittings are in need of refurbishment. The following morning the shower also failed to provide a steady stream of hot water, alternating it with cold. The waiting staff at breakfast were extremely...

Fantastic value
from A TripAdvisor Member
We booked this hotel at the last minute and were really surprised given some of the negative comments on this site (we found this site after we had booked the hotel!) . We paid £80 for DB&B, stayed in one of the traditional rooms in the old house and couldn't fault a single thing. We had a fantastic three course dinner on a busy Saturday night and everything was just great. We had: Feta cheese & rocket tart with sweet chilli Corriander & ginger crabmeat Chicken with haloumi & bacon Steak thermados Lemon &...

Nice place, shame about the price.
from Fomzine
This is a good three star hotel with spacious, comfortable, clean well maintained comfortable rooms. We enjoyed our stay. The staff we met at breakfast and on reception were polite and efficient. We received good quality breakfasts, although it appears to be better when the hotel is less busy and is able to provide waiter service with more menu choices rather than the serve yourself hot buffet when the hotel is busier and therefore apparently unable to sufficiently staff a waiter service. We experienced both during our stay and...

a big let down
from bettybee3
When i booked this hotel for a special occasion, i understood through the picture and description in the brochure, that we would be staying in an old manor house, so we were thoroughly dissapointed to find when we got there that the accomodation is in a new extension that is plonked in the grounds of the hotel. Our room was stuffy and dark and a total let down for the price that we paid. It was more like a room that you would expect in a travel lodge, which you would pay an awful lot less for. we have stayed in classy 4 star west end...

Great week-end
from A TripAdvisor Member
Nice hotel. Only 5 minutes walk to the market place and only 15 minutes from the Cathederal. Nice room if a little compact. Staff very professional and polite, nothing to much trouble. Food was good, the bar a little pricey but theres a pub 50 yards down the road. Ideal base for exploring Dorset. Would use again.
Great weekend away
from TerriFountain
We stayed at Milford Hall Hotel for a long weekend, Friday to Monday. Rooms are very clean, comfortable and spacious. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The food at the Brasserie was fantastic, the best fillet steak I've ever tasted. I'd find it hard to fault this hotel but perhaps some aircon in the rooms would be good as it was very hot. The hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the centre and perhaps 10 minutes from the Cathedral. I suggest you take the walk by the river into Salisbury town centre and it's much nicer that walking...

Not worth the money
from Mishadog
We stayed at the Milford in late June and were extremely disappointed. The decor has clearly not updated in decades and the rooms had old carpet, scratchy blankets and sheets, poor dim lighting, and some of the ugliest wallpaper in Britain. Worst of all there was no air conditioning and the temperature was plus 30 degrees so the room was absolutely stifling. The only good thing was the brasserie staff who were very nice and efficient. Definitely not worth the £100 plus rates per night.
Great place to stay
from WalesTraveljunkies
Well worth a visit if you want to stay in Salisbury, just a short walk from the centre. The rooms are spacious and very clean, with everything you need. The food is superb in the Brasserie. The staff were really helpfull and friendly. Can't wait to go back again and try something else on the menu. Can't fault it!!!
