Manor Hotel

Manor Hotel is an old house, with a charming patio/garden in which you can relax... The problem is when you came in... it is an old place with lot of corridoors, lot of stairs, no lift and it was hard to bring up the luggage!! No luggage-service!!! I was advised by the Olde English Inn booking agent to ask for a room in the annex of the hotel. I wished I'd read the reviews before booking but, unfortunately, I booked on the morning of our trip and didnt have time to check Trip Advisor. The room was dreary, one wall painted a hideous shade of brown. The furniture was ancient and slightly sticky!! Our view was the local magistrates court and a multistorey car park. The floor creaked so loudly that if one of us was walking about the other couldnt hear the tv. I cant imagine how loud it... more

We booked this hotel as a central location for visit some of the local places of interest - it is also walking distance of the town centre. Through their central reservations we were advised to stay in the annexe as the main hotel can be a bit noisy when there are wedding receptions held there. Our room was basic but comfortable - although the bathroom could have been cleaner. We ate in the restaurant on the first evening as we arrived quite late. The food was very average. Breakfast was good with the usual selection of fruits yoghurts... more
