Taunton is an ideal base to explore Exmore and this hotel is in an ideal location.
The hotel is nicely decorated in a modern style. The room we stayed in was a good size, clean with good basic facilities.
The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome, staying with an active 2 year old always makes you wonder how welcome we would be, but all the staff from reception to restaurant were brilliant.
They only downside was the quality of the food in the restaurant, but don't let that put you off.

Room wasn't very good for the money we paid, as it was quite small. It was supposed to sleep 4. That is ok if you are a family with two very young children, but teenagers, forget it. Very cosy. Also the receptionists were not very helpful. We also had to ask for a few items, which should have been in our room, which weren’t there, and we felt as though we were inconveniencing them by asking. However the waiters were very friendly.

This hotel was exactly what we were looking for after a disaster in Torquay. We spent 2 nights in an executive room. It was clean and comfortable with lots of little extra touches. The swimming pool was super, and the dining facilities very good. We booked B&B, but took dinner in the hotel on both nights as it was tremendous value. All the staff were very helpful. The only drawback was the size of the room. With 11 year old twins it was OK, but I wouldn't have liked to stay more than the couple of days we did. Overall very good. The town of Taunton is very nice, too!
