Cheap, clean, close to ferry and does a family room for 5!
Having called every other hotel in Portsmouth to find a family room which would sleep five (the four year old will sleep fine in a double bed with his two sisters, honest!), only to be told that "regulations don't allow five in a room", this hotel was happy to add a small folding bed to their family room. It wasn't cheap but was cheaper than two rooms! It must have been refurbished since some other reviews as I found it as clean and new as any cheap modern hotel. Not tatty or dirty at all. It's ten minutes from the ferry too! <br... more
good night sleep
I stayed at the Innlodge as we were traveling to france and it is near the ferry port it was a nice hotel and as i understand just been re funished. the reception staff were very helpful our ferry was canx and they found us a room and even called the ferry port and found out about our ferry times for us i have to small children and had no trouble entertaining them in the large ball pit. The food was good value for money and although busy the staff always had time for you. I booked another night for our return and would book again.
Not so good
I stayed at the Innlodge for the second time and now I know that my first impressions were correct. Grotty is the best word I can find for it. The corridors have a damp and musky smell, but I was relieved to find that this did not continue in the rooms. On entering the room I found a dozen or so horseflies, some dead and some prancing around, I removed them as best I could but did notice some others had been squashed into the walls. I reported this to reception and was disgusted to find that they remained there for the... more
Basic Value for money
Innlodge is of "travel Lodge" or "Travel Inn" quality and layout but it has the option of breakfast and newspaper. It is situated two minutes off the A27and 15 minutes drive from Portsmouth town centre. A2030 is just east of junction 12 of M27. Inn Lodge, turn off at traffic lights opposite to "Harvester" resturant. The nearby main road is noisy if you don't want to get up early! Our room had a squeeky bed and a tired bathroom which could do with a re-fit. The walls are a bit thin but it was adequate, £50 per room in high... more
Somewhere between terrible and vaguely OK
Where do I start? I booked this through hotels but when I phoned up the day before to confirm that there would be a cot in my room I discovered that I didn't have actually have a room in the first place. I booked anyway - not necessarily their fault, I thought at the time. However, due to subsequent errors I think it was par for the course with this hotel. On arrival we were given a room which was already occupied by someone else. Fortunately the owner of the neatly folded clothes wasn't in his room at the time. We were taken to... more
Hotel, Golf and a Pub!
Better than most for the price paid. Comfortable rooms; hardworking staff (although typically not enough of them) and a great location. Golf and a pub on the doorstep and some great out of town stores nearby. I enjoyed it and will use it again.
a pub with rooms attached
not a proper hotel - lack of identity and tatty. no customer care poor choices of meals - needs to recognise that it is not a pub but a hotel with guests staying there and take lessons from other proper hotels. rooms are dated and tatty.
Poor
Poor. Being a massive chain such as Best Western, I was expecting at the very least, something half decent. Unfortunately, this wasnt the case. The room had a funny smell, the bed was uncomfortable and creaky, the room didn't feel clean and the carpet was sticky. I have travelled and have stayed in some basic hostels, so needless to say I'm not one to complain, but my lack of a good nights sleep in a hotel charging the same money as a Holiday Inn really irritated me. I'd imagine that most of the hotels in the best western chain are decent... more
fantastic
my husband and myself had a really great time here on our anniversary the room was excellent we had a suite with a jacuzie which was great. It was clean and the service was great would go back again.
Friendly staff!
I recently stayed at the Innlodge in Portsmouth. We had a comfortable room, at the back of the hotel so we had a pleasant view looking out over the golf course. I believe rooms in the front can be quite noisy, especially at weekends but we were warned of this and a request for a quiet room was granted. The rooms are beginning to look tired but they were clean and the bed comfortable, we managed an excellent nights sleep. There is a choice of restaurants, we ventured into the pub but opted for the restaurant, Beiderbecks which was... more
