Portsmouth Marriott Hotel

We found the Marriott a very pleasureable and comfortable stay, the only thing that the hotel down was the location, out from many of the amenities, close by is Tesco and a Pizza Hut but the ferry port was near so we could catch the ferrry over to the Isle of Wight. Rooms we're clean and the breakfast is outstanding! Staff extremley helpful and informative! Very good overall!

My wife and I spent one night at the Marriott en route for the channel ferry to France. The hotel is a bit out of town adjacent to a big Tesco and some modern industrial buildings. However it is only about 6 minutes drive from the ferry terminal which was ideal for our 7.45 am boat check-in.It was a typical Marriott, clean efficient and with a reasonable restaurant,a large car park and easy to find. The staff were cheerful and helpful. We didn't notice any traffic noise from the motorway which is nearby but not that close, but we didn't try sleeping with the window open as it was a hot night and the aircon was functioning. We would stay there again.

Like all other Marriott hotels, this is like any other as you would expect. Service is excellent, staff are very professional, and the rooms offer all the standard facilities. The only problem though, is that it really isn't very central. It's a long old drive to the city centre and nearby there isn't anything at all apart from a large pub. I guess, this is great for business travellers, but as i was going on a short break to visit portsmouth the locality could have been better.

As you would expect from a Marriot a very nice clean hotel. Only stayed the one night but the staff were very friendly, rooms spacious and the food good.

My mother was 80 in November, my sister and I decided to wait until the weather improved and then take her to Portsmouth for a long weekend as our father had been in the Navy and we had lived in Portsmouth for a while. We found the Portsmouth Marriott and excellent hotel. The rooms were exceptionally well equipped and clean. The hotel staff were polite courteous at all times and very helpful. Breakfast was also excellent with plenty of choice. We also enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room facilities. The only critiscism we have is that the weekend was over far too quickly!!!
