The location of this hotel is superb, right on the seafront offering fantastic views
across the Solent. The room was clean and very spacious and the staff were very
friendly.
Unfortunately what let the hotel down was the brasserie where they served breakfast and evening meal if chosen. The service was very poor, we waited almost an hour for our starter. The menu itself was limited being told that a lot of what was on it was unavailable. The food when it did come was average. Again at breakfast there was only one waitress and although we were the only people in the restaurant we weren't acknowledged for nearly 15 minutes the one morning.
It was a shame as this did reflect poorly on the overall impression.

we have just returned from the isle of wight and allthough Ryde castle doesn't live up to the magical impression you have in the mind, i must say it was very clean and tidy and the staff were lovely. We ate in the restraurant several time's and the food was very good, it is a very relaxed place to go

DON'T GO THERE. FOOD IS TERRIBLE, SERVICE IS TERRIBLE. ROOMS AND DECOR AT £100 PER NIGHT IS WELL BELOW STANDARD.

On my first visit to the Isle of Wight I stayed at the Ryde Castle Hotel. It was wonderful, the food was superb and the location of the Hotel was second to none. The summer of 2006 was one of the hottest for a long time and i was very lucky to be there at that time.
The hotel overlooked the Esplanade and on waking each morning I opened my bedroom window and looked onto the beautiful beach just beyond the Esplanade. The beach was 7 miles along and very well looked after - it was spotlessly clean. Just 1 minute away was the Hydrofoil which goes across the water in minutes to Southampton.
In the evenings I had my meal sitting outside - there was a small raised brasserie off the dining room and it was a real pleasure to just sit there with a lovely meal and watch the world going by. I was there only for a week but the memory of a fabulous holiday will live with me forever.
I have nothing but praise for the Isle of Wight in general and would love to return to the Ryde Castle for 2 weeks !!!!!
I hope everyone enjoys this review and visits the Ryde Castle (and the Isle of Wight) to see for themselves.
Ann Rossette
