Very nice
from A TripAdvisor Member
This vacation was booked for us and the agency always uses Holiday Inn, but after the reviews I had read I was very nervous about what to expect when we arrived. (We are particular about the hotels we stay in.) Upon arrival, we found that all the worrying was for nothing. The rooms were very clean and the staff was very nice. My kids loved the playground and the pool. We will be staying at this hotel when we return to Florida.
Good deal - April 2004

It had what we were looking for. The price was very reasonable and it provided us with a good "base". It was easy getting to all of the parks, restaurants and highways. As other reviews state, the grounds and the rooms are kept clean and the room was fairly spacious. The bathroom however is not. The sink/kitchenette area was a great addition to the room. The kids liked the pool, but at certain times it became very crowded. Our room had a pool view and was at the start of a "passway" to the parking lot. There was a lot of foot traffic and noise. We are from a city and it was comforting, but if not use to noise and such, don't get a room near the pool. The food court was very convienient and well stocked. We had breakfast in the restuarant. it was so-so. We stayed in a "kid suite" room. Our eleven year old loved it! Wants us to build a fort in his room now. Our sixteen year old was not very happy. He is 6'2" and the bed was too short. Oops, never considered that. (All 3 beds are enclosed by the "fort") Plus he didn't like the wool-type blankets that are on the kids beds. (Had to go to Walmart to buy a cotton blanket for him) There's not a lot of draw space. We had to use the top bunk for their clothes. The boys were not impressed with the basketball court, (something to do with just one hoop located on the tennis court. I didn't see it) but liked the fact that it had an arcade and we could rent movies on VHS. The one thing I definately didn't like about the kid's suite was that the king size bed was located much too close to the air-conditioner that runs the length of the window, approximately 12" from the edge of the bed. (The A/C protrudes from the wall below the window) I woke up our first morning with an awful head cold that didn't clear up until I got home. (7 nights!) I had to cover up most of the vents with a towel each night to avoid breathing in the cold/moist air. (When I turned the A/C down, the room got too stuffy, especially in the fort) Being sick did keep me from enjoying our vacation to the fullest. The chances of us staying there again because of that are slim. Had I not been feeling so miserable, we would definately book again. It was a good deal. (Just don't pick the side of the bed near the window!)
Nice and Clean

I love reading reviews at trip adviser, but my husband made the reservation with out me having time to do any research on this hotel. I'm glad I didn't the reviews aren't the best, but I loved it, he made the reservation thru Expedia and got a fantastic price, he noted on special request that it was our anniversary and the hotel even included complementary breakfast buffet, it was delish, the room was very nice, king bed was magnificent and the hotel was clean, the pool was great with out a doubt it was a wonderfull experience.
Give this place a chance!!!

We were worried after reading the reviews, but after getting checked in our worries were gone! The room was spotless, the grounds were immaculate, the staff friendly and helpful, and the location excellent! This hotel is an older one, but our linens/bedding were all new, the beds very comfy, and everything freshly painted. The pools were large and uncrowded with a nice family atmosphere. No drunks or troublemakers. We felt like the staff truly was there to help provide us with anything we might need or want. And, our housekeeper did such an excellent job we looked forward to seeing what "towel sculpture" she would come up with when we returned to our room at night. We would, and will, stay here again!
For children only
from A TripAdvisor Member
The rooms are old but clean. The walls are paper thin though. If you are traveling without children do not stay there. When I spoke with the managment about the children in the room next to me bouncing off the walls till all hours, they stated they could have security have a talk with them. I decided since it was children I would not ruin their fun on vacation so I told them I would try to tolerate it. I do believe as I wrote to the managment that they should put families in one part of the hotel and single business travelers in another part and make everyone happy. The response was an apology and they will try to get security to do a better job.
Did the trick for the price
from Eileenp65
I am a very picky person. We usually stay at 4 star - full service concierge hotels. This trip we had other people coming & couldn't expect them to pay the price we were use to. After reading MANY reviews , we decided to book this hotel because we all needed a one bedroom suite. For the price we paid ($75 a night), it was well worth the money!! The SEPARATE bedroom had 2 double beds, the bathroom had a huge jacuzzi tub, the living room had a couch & pull out Murphy bed. The kitchen was a good size, & closet space was great!! We requested 1st floor & got it right near the pool, we had breakfast buffet for 4 included in our rate- it was not "character breakfast" quality that you find at Disney, but for breakfast, it was fine. I can't speak for the single rooms & kidsuites, but this was really fine for us. We would definitely stay there again. With a town that has over 300 hotels, it's hard to decide, I find we got what we paid for, I think people need to keep it all in perspective- this is not a 4 star hotel - but it was adequate. The funniest thing was when we got there & drove near our room, my 7 year old son says" we have to carry our own luggage". It you want luxury - go to 4 star hotels & pay for it. Like I said, we would stay there again, in a 1 bedroom suite.
Great Deal , Great Value , Very Nice Hotel

Very nice place to stay. Great Value. Its an older motel but very well kept and very clean. I had some doubts after reading some of the other reviews but I am glad I stayed there. The staff was friendly and our maid did a very good job of cleaning the room everyday of our 6 night stay. The pool and hot tubs were sparkling clean. The hotel food was ok. We mostly ate out at other places. The kids eat free deal , was good and does save you some money but you still have to buy drinks and pay 15% tip as part of the deal. But other resturants around the Disney have the same requirements for 15% tip. We did not use the free shuttle, the Hotel is only 3 miles away from Disney and we liked the flexability to come and go from the park as we pleased. The free Shuttle has fixed scheduled to use and runs only a few times a day. But if you look at the prices of other options this hotel is a great value and although not a brand new motel its very clean and well kept. Some things you dont think of are: the beds were very comfortable and had very nice pillows and the hotel used very high quality towels and linens which are not always the case at other economy motels. Everything looked brand new. Its the little things that leaves an impression on me.
Will Not Returm to This Place

Last week, I stayed 2 nights at this "Hotel and Suites". Naming it "Hotel and Suites" is quite misleading. It is just an old-yes, VERY old-motel. After staying there, I was very glad that I booked for only 2 nights, which was not cancellable. I also have to say that a check-out staff at the front desk need to learn to be courteous to guests.
Quite Cheap !!

We stayed at this motel in December 2002. The property has been around a long time and looks it. The room which was first assigned had a shower head that had not been cleaned forever( really gross) otherwise the room looked alright. We had prepaid which did not give us much choice. The next room had just had new carpeting and paint, it looked much better. On the surface it looked clean, but had a terrible odor coming from dirty drains in the sink and tub. Would I return, No ! By the way, there were so many vacancies around Orlando you have your choice.
Very wore out H.I.

I was very disappointed in our recent stay at this Holiday Inn. The kidsuite (very deceiving in advertisement) was not what I had anticipated, very rustic, partial log walls around the beds which ended up making the room very cramped. The furnishings in the room were worn out and it was very dark and dreary as well. We did not feel comfortable opening the curtains to the window in our room due to having no privacy as the window faced the walkway going past our room. They should invest in some paint and better lighting in the rooms. The room also needed to be better cleaned.....it appeared that they just "surface" cleaned and the room could use a good thorough cleaning. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone nor would I stay here again.
This was by far the worst hotel experience in my life. It began with wrong directions by the front desk. They took us 45 minutes to the east rather than the west. After we arrived and unpacked we found that our door would not lock - the key card did not work. We packed up... more
