Have just returned from two weeks at Efes Inn. This is the second time I have stayed here. The standard is definately dropping, dirty table clothes at breakfast and no fruit served at all. Coffee machine out of order several mornings.
The rooms are basic but adequate and clean.
Many of their regular and well known staff have now left leaving a terrible void in their evening entertainment. In fact a full restaurant is quickly cleared when the owners and staff at the complex get up night after night to perform embarrassing dancing with hankerchiefs and excessively loud muic.
The Hotel is in a great location

We stayed at the Efes hotel for two weeks in April 2009.The hotel was great:friendly&clean. Food was ok but nothing special and the room had very little storage space. One thing upset us however. We paid for drinks as we went along and were not given receipts, and on the last day we were given a bill for over £30,supposedly for drinks.Make sure you get receipts(signed if possible)I would stay there again. It really is a nice hotel.

We have just returned from our first visit to Turkey, and what can I say other than I am absolutely devastated to be home!!!! The place is beautiful, the hotel is plain but immaculate, and as for the staff!!!, I could not give them the justice they deserved even if I tried!! They literally can not do enough for you at the Efes Inn and make you feel so welcome that you will never want to leave. Even though we went at the very beginning of the season, there was still ample choice of things to do, which we enjoyed imensely as it was still rather quiet and peaceful. Consdering the Efes was one of only 3 hotels open in Icmeler and the smallest by far, from the other tourists we spoke to, ours excelled in the entertainment levels by quite a considerable amount. All I can say is if you are looking for a holiday with exceptional treatment, fantastic views, a damn good laugh, great trips and lots of rest and relaxation, head to the Efes Inn and you can be sure of a very warm welcome. Roll on next years holiday!!! See you all soon lads!!! Zoe, Lesley and Sharon (County Durham)

We have just returned on 3.11.08 following a 2 week visit.
The hotel is an official 3 star rating. The rooms were as expected for a 3 star with comfortable beds and plenty of space, we would have liked a chest of drawers as the room only had 1 small bedside drawer making it difficult to store your stuff for 2 weeks. We had a TV and a fridge with mini-bar. The bathroom had a bath and shower although if you wanted hot water make sure you have it before 6pm otherwise it was luke warm at best. The air conditioning worked very well and the room cleanliness was excellent with towels/bedding changed every day.
We found the food to be very limited with breakfast consisting of bread, a processed cheese, tomatoes, cucumber, a processed sliced meat, hard boiled eggs which were very difficult to peel, a cheap cereal (although for a few days there was a choice of 3), a sweet sugary drink that they called orange juice, tea, coffee and a selection of jams and honey. The evening meal always consisted of a soup starter and a desert that was usually nothing more than a bunch of grapes or piece of melon, we wanted more choice than this. The main meal gave more choice as we could choose from the menu however, although the menu had quite a few pages we found that many dishes were the same but with different names and what was disappointing was the lack of some turkish food to try.
The facilities at the hotel are limited with a chargeable snooker table and 1 small swimming pool that has no shallow end which was not great for our 12 year old daughter.
The location of the hotel is great with a 2 minute walk to the beach where the use of sunbeds is free as a resident, you are also in close proximity to everything you need at the Icmeler resort from this hotel.
By far the most positive aspects of this hotel are the staff, they were superb.
Eddie, Mehmet, Sidic (Jeff), Eric, Zico and Russell are all legends in our eyes - they made any negative sides of the hotel pale into insignifance with their charm and friendliness. We saw these guys working every single day from breakfast time through to past midnight and they reliably inform us that they simply don't have days off throughout the season. This group of guys have been providing service at the Efes for many years as a team and it shows. Nothing was too much trouble for any of our requests and they were top class when providing entertainment and encouraging the hotel guests to get involved.
Overall we would recommend that this hotel would benefit from some updating in terms of the rooms and the range of food they offer however we would much rather have the "part of the family" feel to our holiday as a memory instead of "the hotel room and food was great but the staff were unfriendly". So take your pick.
We wanted to mention our tour operator Thomas Cook who we found to be satisfactory. Flights ok although pretty miffed that we had no choice but to pay for meals on the flights (due to late booking) to witness everyone being given a meal.
The only trip we did with them was a reps entertainment evening at £7 a head that turned out to be freely available for anyone to see in the over priced bar they took us to. The entertainment was very poor yet you felt unable to complain as the aim of the event was for charity. Despite the entertainment being so poor the reps were still on a mission to get money from us for the charity, at one point they auctioned a limited edition Thomas Cook monopoly game where a waiter and a rep bidded against each other to raise the price until someone ended up being suckered into it upping their bid. We have no problem with raising money for charity, however, we expected a Thomas Cook event such as this to be exclusive to those that have paid, of much better quality and be much better planned if they want people not to feel that they have been duped. Avoid this one we say.

A Happy Holiday

We had 7 days here, our first time in Turkey, booked at very short notice.
We had heard varying reports about Turkey but took the chance anyway. We were glad that we did. The hotel was excellent for our purposes. It was clean, restful and ideally situated. Yes there was noise at night from the adjacent hotels and bars but they all stopped at midnight which was reasonable.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the evening events were enjoyable even if a bit 'samey'. Once youv'e seen one belly dance then there's not a lot of variation. The breakdancers were good but the Irish dancers trying to do Riverdance to turkish music was a bit laughable though entertaining.
The hotel beach was clean and the swimming area was safe for all.
An excellent base for a holiday which far exceeded the brash commercialism of Marmaris.

Recently had 2 weeks stay at the Hotel Efes Inn in the resort of Icmeler. This was our first trip to Turkey and really enjoyed it.
Transfer from the airport wasn't that great as no air con on the bus and transfer took approximately 2 hours from Dalaman Airport. We reached the Hotel Efes Inn at around 9.50pm turkish time unaware the resort bars came to life at 10 pm. The bars are full of dancers and very good dancers at that. Recommend First Moon.
Hotel was excellent, staff very friendly and entertaining, very clean, good food, rooms nohing flash but very clean and comfortable with air con that is spot on as temperatures reached 42.
Would recommend the trip to talk of the town in Marmaris for a drag show, the private boat trip run by the Marbas hotel which is just up from the Efes Inn and Cleopatra's island. Would not recommend sunshine cruise as you are like canned sardines on the boat.
Restuarants were nice barring a few, miserable at Harrys Steak House, Mario's Italian Restaurant serves warm prawn cocktails and food seemed dodgy as not served hot. Love boat restaurant excellant as well as the Marbas restaurant which is located on a jetty out to sea.
All in all a great holiday. Turkish people very friendly and can not do enough for you except as mentioned Harrys Steak House. Do not be afraid to haggle. Taxi boats good value

We arrived at the Effes Inn in Icmeler on Sep 29th. What a great hotel to stay in staff were very friendly and helpful, rooms were lovely and clean, clean towels and beds every day maids were very friendly. The air conditioning was great and also free, brilliant location backs on to the beach plenty restauarants and pubs on the doorstep especially the Timeless bar where you will find Roma and Mehmet the chef who made us some lovely Turkish cusine that was not on the menu nothing was to much trouble. we also found the boat trips fantastic and great value for money and topping up your suntan. We would not hesitate to go back to icmeler and would definately stay at the Effes Inn.

We stayed at the efes inn hotel from the 1st sept to 12th Sept 2008. The staff are extremley friendly and we got on so well with them, they make your holiday that extra bit special!
We celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary in Turkey and the hotel gave us a fantastic plate of fruit and a bottle of wine for free. Nothing was any troiuble if you asked for something, they even weighed our suitcases for us as we were leaving for the airport!
The breakfast was basic but nice, i dont think i could have eaten a full english every day, my only disappointment was that there was not enough variety of fruit in the morning but not a major problem!
The air conditioning wasnt great and some days it was just too muggy in the rooms, but we coped!
We had a lovely stay there and would recommend to anyone, we met some lovely people did some great trips and had a ball with the bar staff, eddie is a character!
Hoping to go back very soon xx

we have just came back form the efes inn hotel, icmeler and had a fantastic 2 weeks there. the efes inn hotel was fantastic, the rooms were cleaned daily, there was a good choice of food ,the waiters eddie, eric, memeth and russel where fantastic and all other staff in the hotel were lovely and very friendly to everyone, access to hotel for disabled people was brill, the entertainment of a night in the hotel restaurant was brill. the hotel and resort was suitable for young, old and disabled people, the weather whilst we was there was brilliant sometimes a bit to hot but was still better than england. the beach was lovely and had a easy access for disabled people, the watersports on the beach where fantastic for people of all ages.
the surrounding bars where all very good and suitable for young and old but the best bar in the resort was the irish bar, you must visit here and meet omar, kevin, brian, jimmy, jj, roni, maximus, carlos ans scouse in the house (cant remember his name). aka elvis, freddie mercury, spice girls and many more. we spent most of our nights in the irish bar beacuse the atmosphere, entertainment and most of all the satff where fantastic we had many laughs in this bar with the staff.
we will definatley be going back to the efes in hotel and the irish bar very soon. we would recommend the efes inn hotel to anyone it was fantastic.
