Antelope Inn Hotel

We have stayed at the Antelope for 2 weekends recently. The first weekend we thought it was perfect. The staff were really friendly, the rooms were pretty small but nice and had everything you needed (more than expected for a 2 star). The breakfast was good. I thought the waitress that everyone talked about was quite friendly, the only weird thing is how she makes you sit at dark tables right at the back when there are free tables at the front! We stayed at the Antepole for 1 night in August. Everything about this hotel was excellent. The room was clean and neat. Not a speck of dust anywhere. We were very impressed as soon as we walked into our room. The bathroom was spotlessly clean. We had a fantastic dinner in the restaurant and the food was of excellent quality. We even thanked the chef before we left! Breakfast was also lovely. The location of the hotel is great. Few minutes walk to the harbour, pubs, bars, restuarants and shopping. The Antelope is a pub with a series of rooms attached. It is located very close to Poole Quays, which is a popular destination as it has lots of pubs and eateries. Note that there is no beach nearby as Poole quay is a dock. The Hotel was nice, the rooms were small but clean, and the service was friendly. Breakfast was a mixed bag, but I have had a lot worse - Certainly worth staying here.

We stayed here in November 2005 for 3 nights on an Olde English Inns B&B deal which proved very good value. Our room was upstairs (no lift) and was on the large side with a huge bathroom. It was more than adequate. The included breakfast was served in the back bar/restaurant which has lots of character and the selection was good (although the hash browns were actually fried sliced potato). We stayed here for one night and had a lovely relaxing time. The hotel is well located for shops, restaurants, bars and the water front. I would describe it as a typical pub inn, but towards the higher end. The bathroom was great - spacious with a fantastic shower. The room was very clean and there were some nice touches eg complimentary mineral water and free paperback books which guests were encouraged to take away.
