We were the IST
We were the first paying guests on the Monday thast this hotel opened and the first to be greeted on that Monday morning at the bar by the manager with a lovely glass of wine. It was a great night nad then we forgot to put our names in the book and being the first guests we were gutted. Hope the car park is better now then the night we stayed our car was covered in white dust from the building site next door The bar is not has good as other DuVins but the quiet lounge room is nice
Gorgeous room, superlative service, value for money
My 5 year anniversary and 40th birthday were close enough together to warrant a special treat, so we pushed the boat out and stayed at the best room in the hotel. The room rate was £350 and in our opinion it was value for money. The bed is the size of a football pitch, there are twin tubs in the room for relaxing and a huge walk in shower. Dinner in the restuarant was the usual high standard offered by HdV. All in all a wonderful night. One thing to watch out for, parking is very tight. They offer parking to residents only,... more
Fantastic value and great experience
My partner and I just spent Saturday night at the HdV in Poole. We booked a mid-range room for something like 160 pounds but when we arrived we were upgraded to a studio (the Grande Dame room). This also included breakfast for 2 (a lovely big fry up with a continental buffet). Great value. The room was lovely - big, well laid out, wireless internet that worked. Bed slightly too soft for my liking but it was big and nice high-thread-count sheets. Sunday papers delivered to the door. Monsoon shower. Staff couldn't be nicer or more... more
Excellent Sunday Night Special Rate...
My husband and I had a lovely overnight stay on Sunday night for £125. This included accommodation, breakfast, and dinner (three courses and coffee) for 2 people. Excellent value. The hotel is located in the old town, central to all the amenities of Poole. Lovely rooms, with full size toiletries and large fluffy bathrobes. Staff very friendly and helpful from reception staff through to bar and restaurant staff. The bar area is lovely with a beautiful quiet room just off the bar with large comfy sofas and a log fire.... more
Great ambiance and location
Visited Hotel du Vin for a first weekend away with my boyfriend, and would thoroughly recommond to anyone wanting a romantic getaway. We stayed in a superior double, which was a generous size, with huge bed. Facilities all good ... great range of teas and ground coffee, generous bottles of Arran Aromatics toiletries, which you are invited to take home. Bathroom was compact (limitations of a converted building), but they had managed to fit in a roll top bath with large separate shower cubicle. The only negative point about the room is... more
very romantic!!
stayed 1 night in the deluxe suite which was not cheap but worth it!! the room is not huge like the bristol du vin but was very cosy, we also had a balcony we had a roll top bath in our room and a seperate shower/bathroom you really could get a rugby team in the shower!!! there was a wonderful choice of tea/coffee and a well stocked mini bar. we booked a meal in the bistro and was very impressed we were truly pampered by the excellant staff, the wine list is absolutely amazing one minus is if you have a balcony room you are overlooked by a... more
Eating too much!
Booked Hotel Du Vin Poole to spend a couple of days with older family member after Christmas. Good rooms with comfortable beds. Helpful staff. Great bistro - we over-ate for two dinners and two full-English breakfasts, ably helped by the young but attentive and friendly staff. Service in restaurant is better than the bar where bar man had not learnt to approach the guest instead of waiting to be asked. Overall, very enjoyable stay.
Best duvet ever!
My partner and I spent a two night weekend at HdV, Poole. It opened recently in a lovely old building just behind the Quay within sight of the Sunseeker boat yards. We had a great time and returned home feeling properly refreshed. The room was well equipped with a large bathroom, comfortable bed and with the best pillows and duvet I've ever known - beautifully light and warm. We have previously stayed at Harbour Heights hotel in Poole and although the HdV has the higher standards, the view from Harbour Heights is really exceptional as... more
An excellent hotel in a great location.
We stayed here for a Sunday night with dinner and breakfast as a pre-winter cheer us-up-treat and had a really great stay. The hotel is smart and comfortable , in a great spot and Poole was a real joy. I've never seen so many pubs in one area ! Despite some confusion between what the the hotel and what the central booking said as to whether there was or was not parking, we did get one of the few valet parking car parking spots- and this could be an issue as it is difficult to park nearby. However the BR station is very close so no... more
Luxurious and fabulous
We booked the newly opened Hotel du Vin Poole with high expectations and we weren't disappointed. Our room was fabulous with a roll top bath at the end of our bed, a huge monsoon shower large enough for about 10 people and fantastic sheets. We ate in the restuarant and although not cheap the food was excellent quality as you'd expect. Staff were all brilliant and definitely went the extra mile. Parking was very limited as it states on the website but we managed to squeeze in luckily. If we're ever in Poole we'll definitely stay there... more
