Osborne Hotel

I took my partner here for his birthday as a surprise just one night, dinner bed and breakfast. The website led me to believe we were going to a grand, georgian hotel with this period being through out the hotel. When arrived we were greeted by a lovely receptionist( the staff and service were fantastic ) we were shown to our room by a very polite young man but to my horror we stepped into a time warp back to the mid 90s the decor was as far from georgian as you could get, the bathroom was pre 1990 and very tierd with a huge crack in the sink basin. We also soon discovered that we would have to find our way to the loo in the dark as the fan in the bathroom sounded like a tornado as soon as you turned the light on, and when you flushed tho loo it sounded like thunder. After a very nice meal in the lagtrys with fantastic wine a great service, we returned to our room to find it absolutey freezing after deciding that it was to cold to shower my partner discovered that the radiators were now cold so they turned the heating off at about 11pm. I know I must sound like a picky women but I feel very let down by the dated hotel which really could do with alot of TLC for it to shine in its former glory. I will look back at this weekend as an expensive trip to Fawlty Towers!!!!
