Only stayed one night for a business meeting. Coffee was served in the conference room, with milk and sugar, but no spoons. Our party were asked to choose from a limited dinner menu and to specify the time we would like to dine, which was in the main, 7.30. Excellent facilities let down by poor management. Food mediocre; wine list poor - sommelier tried to substitute a poorer wine to that ordered without telling us, resulting in an apology from the restaurant manager; restaurant staff not having good enough English to fully understand what was being said to them; beer in Lodge not drinkable; tables full of dirty glasses from previous customers. Stayed on business (1Q 2003): Liked: the rooms are generally large and comfortable, lots of space to work if you have to, excellent relaxation facilities (pool, sauna, small gym, golf driving range), excellent local pub food in Woodbury village, nice to escape from the town - location overall is excellent. Disliked - food was very disappointing, very variable, unimaginative - room service timely but limited choice and below average quality.
